Here we are, 2017 is still fresh upon us, we have the 45th president in office, world issues are being solved and improved each and every day, and it feels as if everywhere you turn you see someone younger and younger holding an iPhone or iPad in his or her hand. While I am one that definitely approves of the rapid improvements of technology and the fast-paced world we now live in, I can't help but look back to my childhood and realize how different it was compared to the young children in today's world. Now don't get me wrong, I was only born in 1996, so I was on the back end of the 90's, however, what with what I remember, my childhood was bomb. While I do think it would be cool to have been able to grow up with technology literally at my fingertips since birth, I am quite glad that this was not the case for me. Here are seven things from that will make any 90s kid thankful for their childhood and feel bad for the kids who didn't get to grow up with these things by their sides.
1. Tamagotchis
Yes, if you grew up in the 90s you 100% had one of these electronic toys. This little toy was a virtual pet you had that you had to feed and take care of. I'm sure now there is some sort of App for kids that does the same thing, but in the 90s this was the greatest little toy to have around.
2. Saved by the Bell
This was quite possibly one of the best TV shows that has ever existed. When you watched this as a little kid you couldn't help but dream about finally being in High School and hopefully finding your very own A.C. Slater.
3. Gauchos

4. Spongebob Squarepants
This was one of my childhood classics. Saturday mornings were filled with hot chocolate, homemade breakfasts, and Spongebob Squarepants. Not to mention this little yellow dude has withstood the test of time and Nickelodeon is still making new episodes today.
5. Baby Bottle Pops
While these still are around today, when you were a little kid and went to rent a movie, and yes I mean from a movie store, you begged your mom to let you have this sweet treat. She quickly regretted saying yes when your mouth turned bright blue from the sugar.
6. Blockbuster
This was quite literally the best place EVER when you were growing up. No, you couldn't just go to Netflix and find the movie you wanted to watch. You actually had to go to a store and search up and down the aisles until you found the exact movie you were in the mood to watch.
7. Bop It
This toy was one of the most addictive and frustrating toys on the market in the 90s. All you had to do was follow the commands given to you and you'd 'win' the game. Easy enough right? Wrong.
