Turning 19 is bittersweet in that you realize this is the last year of your teens. This means you only have one more year to act young and make mistakes, but this also means you only have one more year to grow up and learn how to act like an adult. So here is to the kids stuck in the middle of childhood and adulthood, we don't know it all yet but we sure did learn a lot from this crazy journey.
1. Not having the rest of your life planned out yet is OK.
"What do you want to be," seems to be the main topic of every discussion with anyone who first meets you and asks what you're going to college for. If your answer changes every day its OK, you have four years to decide so just sit back and enjoy the ride.
2. You appreciate your parents so much more.
You realize everything they have done to get you to this point in life and they were your hardest goodbye when you left for college.
3. Take life one day at a time.

4. life will begin the day you stop living life how others think you should.

5. Goals and dreams change.
If you pursue a goal that gives more stress and frustration than happiness, you should never be ashamed in giving up on it. You will sooner or later discover that those dreams just weren't meant to be, and you have to search till you find the right ones.
6. Home is where the heart is.
Those fights with your siblings, home cooked meals, and family game nights, are something you definitely took for granted before you were away from home.
7. You find out who your best friends are.
You may not see your friends for days or even weeks, but if you're blessed with good enough friends the time apart will not matter. You can always count on them to pick up the phone and make those bad days good.
8. Priorities change.
You visit your professors office hours more than you visit your friends. You say goodbye to free time and hello to volunteer hours and internships. Those late nights out with the girls turn into late night study sessions.
9. You are in control of your own happiness.
If you're not happy with something, change it.
10. Appreciate the little things in life.
Life is too short to take these things for granted.
11. Never have regrets.
Every single thing that has happened to you good or bad, has made you who you are today.
12. Get used to missing out on a lot.
The weekend no longer means more time to go have fun with friends, it means there is more time to study, work, write essays, and finish homework assignments.
13. How to invest money wisely.
Let's look at it this way, that 800$ could have bought you 100 Chipotle burritos, or 7 pairs of Nike shoes, or 30 different outfits at American Eagle, or 400 Dunkin' donuts Iced coffees, but Instead was spent on textbooks.
14. Let go of things that bring you down.
Letting go of things or people that no longer serve as positive in your life will bring you the freedom and happiness you never thought you had.
15. People's opinions do not matter.
What someone says about you shows more about them than it does about you.
16.College is nothing like high school.
Take me back to the days where my only worry in the world was where I was going to eat at after school with my friends.
17. Its okay not to be okay.
A bad day is a bad day not a bad life.
18.Be the bigger person.
Not every situation needs a reaction. You have to walk away from the drama small minded people may bring into your life.
