18 Things I Wish I Would Have Known In High School

High School is the best time of your life trust me, It is the only time in your life that you can do stupid things and get away with them. Enjoy everything that high school has to offer you because, when college comes you won't be able to get away with not doing homework, you won't be able to hang out with your friends every single day, and you will realize how easy you had it in High School.

1. Make friends.

As a Freshmen your scared, and it's okay to be scared you but having friends through high school will make the next four years you spend there the best time of your life. Also make sure that you keep those friends because in the end you need them even if you think that you don't.

2. Join Things.

Doing different sports and joining different clubs will help your experience in high school be better than it is. yeah it might be time consuming but in the end it will be worth it.

3. Go to the Football, Baseball, Basketball games.

Going to all the sports events with your friends will be some of the best memories that you make in High School, because when college hits your going to look at pictures and realize how much you miss those times supporting your school.

4. Don't spend everyday after school working.

When being in High School ya its nice to work and have money, but don't miss out on opportunities to have fun on Friday nights because once college hits you won't have the chance to call of work to go out and have fun.

5. Don't spend time on hating the school that you go to.

If all you say is how much you hate this place or how much you can't wait to get out of here, quit saying that because when its all over you will realize how much you regret it.

6. Stop caring about what others think about you.

After High school you realize that what you wear, who you talk to, what you do during your weekends, doesn't matter to anyone but you. Don't try to impress anyone its not worth it, it never will be worth it.

7. It's OK to fail an exam.

Do not get discouraged when you slip on grades in High school, its better to learn from your mistakes now then it does when you go to college.

8. Don't ignore your parents.

During your 4 years of high school, your in that phase where your parents might not matter to you as much as your friends do. Don't hate your parents because when its time to pack up your things and go to college your friends aren't going to be moving you in and saying goodbye, its your parents who have been there for you your whole life.

9. Don't bully other people.

You might think its a cool thing to do now but you don't realize how much your hurting someone else, and you realize that you get nothing out of it as you grow older.

10. Chill out with the make up girls.

Its ok not to wear make up its high school no one will care.

11. Social media does not control your life.

It doesn't matter how many followers you have on twitter, or how many likes you get on Instagram.

12. Enjoy the food that your parents cook.

Trust me on this one dorm food gets old really quick

13. It doesn't matter if your dating the hottest boy or girl in school.

Date who you want, don't worry what others think

14. Your ACT score does not define who you are as a person.

Your ACT score is just a number it does not show how good you are in school

15. Talk to your teachers.

Getting close to your teachers is a good thing because if you need recemondation letters you know who to go to.

16. Enjoy Homecoming, Turnabout, and Prom.

School dances might seem lame but once your there you will never wanna leave and trust me college formals are not the same.

17. Go to Graduation and sit with everyone who you will miss within the next year.

Say goodbye to everyone, you never know when you will see them again

18. Enjoy life.

i can't stress the fact that soon it will come to an end and you will miss it please don't wish it away, you will regret it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
