18 Things All Pre-Law Students Can Relate To

1. Studying for the LSAT, while also studying for your class exams

"I'm fine."

2. The fomo that comes with explaining to your friends that you can’t go out because you have to study for a test that’s 3 months away

And then watching their snaps as they party while you stay in and die study for the lsat.

3. When your scores on the lsat practice tests start to improve

Wow and to think it only took 100,000,000,000 hours to see a 1 point improvement!

4. Looking at law schools online and seeing yourself there

Even if your dream school seems a little of a reach.

5. Deciding which law school to go to

Is it too much to apply to 10 schools? How about 20?

(also yes this gif is from The Bachelor because it's a good show)

6. Trying to not think about the cost of law school

Yes this one really needed 3 gifs.

7. Going to law school forums and hearing the same questions over and over again

Google exists for a reason.

8. Constantly worrying about your grades, extracurriculars, resume, etc.

The world may never understand the stress level of a pre-law student.

9. Asking for letters of recommendation

Please like me.

10. Trying to write your personal statement

Simple enough. Just tell us why you want to study law at our law school and why you're better than all the other hundreds of applicants. In 250 words or less of course.

11. Envisioning how you’ll change the world with your law degree

And obviously you'll do it with a killer wardrobe.

12. Trying to prove to your friends that you know what you're talking about when you give them legal advice

No Miranda you should not fight that parking ticket you got for going 80 in a 25 zone, you will loose. But yes Andi you should totally fight that citation you got for public intoxication outside of the bar, everyone else was drunk too.

13. When people remind you how much money you’ll make

Okay maybe, but that’s after I go into debt to pay for another 3 years of school. Also there's more to being a lawyer than just a paycheck.

14. And if you’re going into public interest law, accepting that you might not get paid as much as corporate lawyers

But also accepting that you'll be making the world a better place.

15. Being asked if Law And Order is your favorite show

Since Grey’s Anatomy is your favorite show, I’m assuming you’re pre-med?

16. When people assume that you must be smart

I mean like yeah, I like to think so, but I also study ALL THE TIME.

17. The joy of finding another pre-law student

Because hey, we're in it together!

18. Knowing that it’s all worth it, because someday you’ll be a lawyer

And that day cannot come soon enough.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
