The 17 Stages of Your Best Friend Studying Abroad
Noelle Cordova

1. They tell you they're thinking about studying abroad for a semester and you're happy for them!

Mostly because it hasn't hit you that they're LEAVING YOU ALL ALONE.

2. The end of the semester hits and you realize that the day is coming a lot sooner than you think.

You can't actually leave me... Can you? You wouldn't do that. Please. Please don't leave.

3. You eventually have to say goodbye...

How can I live without you for four whole months?

4. You get back to school next semester and everything seems different...

What am I supposed to do now?

5. You feel like you need to get a hobby.

It's like you have 10x more free time (but you don't even want it because you JUST WANT TO SPEND TIME WITH YOUR BEST FRIEND).

6. Your friend gets adjusted abroad and they start sending you all their pictures.

They're having SO much fun and you're super happy for them.

7. But you also start to get jealous.

Ugh. I just miss you.

8. You both know that it would be WAY better if you were abroad together.

#dreamteam

9. Still, the pictures keep coming and you just keep missing your friend... so you comment on everything.

It's sassy, but it's filled with love.

10. The only thing that's getting you through all of this is that you're texting 24/7.

iMessage, What's App, Snapchat, Facebook Messenger... Literally everything and always.

11. But service abroad is spotty abroad and sometimes you're all alone.

... so you end up texting their boyfriend (oops).

12. And, as much fun as your friend is having, they start to miss you, too.

I mean, it's to be expected, you're awesome.

13. Whenever there's any sort of news at school they're still the first person you turn to.

10,000 miles ain't nothing when they ~just understand you~

14. So frequent skype sessions are a must.

...because, sometimes, you just can't type fast enough.
(even when it's super late at night and you both look awful... that's a sacrifice you're willing to make.)

15. And, no, time zone differences cannot keep you apart.

The international date line ain't got nothing on us.

16. So, as much fun as they're having and as happy for them as you are, you're still counting down the days until they come home.

But you're never sure if you can last that long.

17. And the day can't come soon enough!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
