18 Signs You Are Dating A Country Guy
Walter Riddell

Country guys are diamonds in the rough. They are the most fun, most loving, most patient, and the easiest to love! They may be hard to find, but once you have one by your side, you will never want to let go!

1. His hands are always dirty and stained from working. It does not matter how hard he scrubs his hands with soap, they will still look like they have not been washed.

2. Hard Working. He goes to work everyday and puts his best foot forward.

3. Southern Hospitality. He is always polite and has good manners. He also will open your car door or any other door for you or anyone else because that is how he was raised.

4. He is protective. He only wants the best for you and wants you to be safe at all times.

5. He is always up for an adventure. Driving around and getting lost, hiking or kayaking are some of the best activities for a boring Saturday afternoon.

6. He loves you unconditionally. He has a big heart and deep down is a big teddy bear. He will do anything and everything in order to help you.

7. Country music is always on, period. Old country or new country, does not matter, it is always on.

8. He is always wearing jeans, boots and a camo hat. You almost do not recognize him when he is wearing anything else. A tie does not exist within his wardrobe.

9. He knows how to fix almost anything You have a handy man twenty-four-seven, so do not worry when something breaks, because he will get his tool box and fix it right away.

10. Hunting and fishing are life. You spend a lot of your time together fishing or hunting, or talking about hunting or fishing... No matter what, both are incorporated into your everyday life.

11. Most of his money goes towards guns, fishing rods or archery items. When you go to Cabelas or Gander Mountain, he is like a little kid in a candy shop. You have to hold his hand (or wallet) so he does not spend all of his money.

12. He has a big spot light in the back of his truck for deer spotting. On a dark summer night, he is always eager to get out to look in the fields.

13. His truck is always muddy. You most likely have to clean off your seat before you get in.

14. He will go missing during hunting season.

15. He always carries a knife.

16. He practices his duck calls on road trips. Of course it gets annoying, so you try to hide the call, but he most likely has five more in the truck.

17. He always has a gun or bow with him during hunting season or a fishing rod during fishing season.

18. His house is full of dead animals… as well as his freezer. It may be creepy at first, but over time you will get used to it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
