17 New Year's Resolutions For The Spring Semester
The writer life

Every year, people make NYE resolutions that they plan on keeping but never do. Just like them, I doubt my resolutions will survive. But in any case, here are a few New Year's Resolutions for 2017...that will definitely be broken in about two weeks...

Here we go:

1. I'll stop convincing myself that the sugary frappuccinos at Starbucks are okay to substitute for a regular coffee.

Because let's be honest, they're more like a milkshake than a coffee.

2. I'll also stop convincing myself that it's okay to spend five dollars a day on a latte.

I guess you can say, I "enjoy the little things" in life.

3. I'll actually limit my coffee intake.

I might end up looking like Fry, though.

4. I'll spend less money on fast food.

Always wanted to go to the Krusty Crab.

5. I'll start eating healthy

6. I'll stop waiting until the night before an essay is due to start it.

7. I will try my hardest not to be late for work.

Without killing anyone, hopefully.

8. I'll go to sleep earlier, like before two in the morning, and wake up earlier.

9. I'll start saving more money.

Dollar, dollar bills y'all.

10. I'll try to control my hanger, (ya know, when you're hungry and angry)

Especially towards my boyfriend. You're welcome in advance.

11. I'll make more of an effort to stop giving an attitude to nasty customers at work.

But then again, you never know.

12. I will spend more time on my homework.

13. I'll stop buying clothes that I think I really need but really don't.

Because I already have a closet full of clothes.

14. I will make more friends than just my cat.

15. I'll stop complaining that I'm poor.

While spending money on food, alcohol, and coffee.

16. I'll wake up on time for school every morning and I'll never skip a class.

17. I'll curse less.

Possible responses instead of cursing. ^^

*** after reading through this list I would just like to say that although my intentions were good, none of these are actually going to happen... and rest assured, all of the above will most likely continue for the rest of 2017. But thanks for reading! ***

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
