Eastern University is a small liberal arts Christian Campus located in St. David’s, Pennsylvania. This school is full of well-rounded students pursuing their degrees in the Arts and Sciences. Being a student at Eastern is enjoyable because you are so close to Philadelphia, the King of Prussia Mall, and Valley Forge. Eastern University is unique, especially when considering state schools. Here are some of the things that make Eastern University different:

1.Ring by Spring

It is the time of season when cherry blossoms and diamonds are blooming on campus.

2. Watching the time during visitation hours

Constantly having to make sure your visitor of the opposite sex is off your hall in time, so no one has to pay a fine.

3. Painted messages on the rock

This is a fun way to stay informed with what is going on at EU.

4. Eagle(s) Pride

School pride is strong at EU. Eastern students are also proud of the Philadelphia Eagles as well. Go Eagles!

5. Insomnia Cookies or Chick-fil-A at every event

Most students attend the meetings for the delicious free food. However, the holiday party at Dr. Duffett’s is known to be a good time.

6. You hear the phrase, “I will pray for you” constantly

Since it is a Christian campus, students are free to openly pray and discuss religion. It is reassuring to have someone who will pray for you or keep you in mind and EU students are quite open about this.

7. The girl to guy ratio is disproportionate

Aside from the diploma, come to Eastern to find bridesmaids, not the groom (some exceptions of course).

8. People stop in the path and other inconvenient places to take pictures of the beautiful landscape

I am guilty of doing this on occasion. These photos are usually posted to social media with a Bible verse.

9. Sledding down the Kea Guffin hill

First snowfall of the season and everyone heads straight to the hill for sledding. People ice skate and play ice hockey on the ponds as well. Eastern looks like Narnia in the winter.

10. Susie Walton

Everyone knows Eastern’s campus was once owned by Mr. Charles Walton. Someone started a rumor that his daughter, Susie, died on the campus grounds and haunts the campus.

11. When you turn 21 and have to go off campus to celebrate

Since Eastern is a dry campus, drinking on campus is not an option (always drink responsibly).

12. When your professor will notice if you are absent because class sizes are small

This is a pro and con for Eastern. It is nice to have a small class for lectures and more one on one time; however, it can be inconvenient if you want to skip.

13. Unreliable Wi-Fi- Everywhere

14. There are never MWF classes at 10am

Sometimes it would be more convenient if there were classes at this time, but Eastern uses this time for Chapel and other events.

15. Feeling slightly guilty not going to chapel, but not guilty enough to go

16. Getting extra credit for attending Window’s on the World events

These events take place Fridays at 10 a.m. in McInnis auditorium.

17. Knowing Bill--and having him make your day better!

Bill is the wonderful soul who works at the dining commons.

Eastern University is a great university with wonderful people. I have spent the last three years of my life here and am sad to graduate. EU is truly unique and only people who went here can understand.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
