17 Things Most College Girls Love, But Some Of Us Can Do WITHOUT

We do really like food and being fed, though.

With every different group of people, there are stereotypes that come along with them.

College girls also have those stereotypes, and most of them are true, but there are some things not every girl likes/does (there are always exceptions, right?).

We may have different ideas about these 17 things, but us college girls love sleep and food and can't get enough of either one.

1. Pumpkin Spice anything

Ok. Maybe it's just me, but pumpkin spice really isn't that great. Where are my peppermint people at?

2. Athletic Nike shorts

I don't even own a pair of these, but I see girls wear them all the time. I don't see what the big deal is with them. I'll stick to wearing non-athletic shorts.

3. Messy buns

Personally, I don't like these because my hair is kind of my trademark since it's so long. Plus I feel so un-put together when my hair is up.

4. Guy's clothing

Hoodies are a different story (they're just more comfortable), but there's no way I'd ever ask to borrow someone's shirt, sweats, etc., to keep as my own basically. It's their stuff, and I always return hoodies even if they end up forgetting I have it.

5. Giant t-shirts

I like t-shirts as much as the next college girl, but I like ones that actually fit. Not ones that completely cover my butt and looks like I'm not wearing pants if I'm wearing shorts.

6. Leggings

Leggings make me feel uncomfortable. It's almost like I'm not even wearing pants which is just weird. I'd much rather wear jeans.

7. Uggs

These aren't as popular as they used to be, but they're so ugly. There are tons of other types of shoes and boots to be worn.

8. Makeup

How do people find the money to do this? How did they even find the talent? Like... what??????? Regardless, less is more has always been my makeup situation. Definitely a fan of the more natural look.

9. Skinny jeans

Up until about a year ago, I never even had a pair of skinny jeans. I always wore bootcut and flare which is still my preference.

10. Crop tops

I've only worn one and kept feeling the need to pull the shirt down to fully cover my stomach. Power to the girls who want to/like wearing them though.

11. Having their friends take candid pictures of/for them.

Every day on Instagram I see girls hugging each other, laughing, doing something random and I know their friends probably took 50+ pictures of them to get a good one. Just not my thing. I don't need people taking pictures of me or being all over me for a picture. I don't like being touched.

12. Coming up with super witty Instagram captions.

The punny ones are pretty good, but sometimes just writing what you're doing works out best or just not having one at all. Sometimes I don't understand the inside jokes you have with your friends, so the caption seems irrelevant.

13. iPhones

Androids all the way. I like being able to customize my phone and doing what I want with it. Plus I don't have to check whether or not it will have a headphone jack because it will.

14. Sororities and anything sorority related

I don't have an issue with people wanting to be in greek life, but it is not my cup of tea at all. It seems to be a headache, expensive, and a huge commitment. Never been to one of their parties either, and I have no interest in going to one anyway.

15. Getting their nails done

Some girls are serious about this and get theirs done every two weeks. Sometimes getting them done is nice, but it can be expensive.

16. Shopping

I hate shopping. Nothing fits, and yet again, clothes are expensive. Do something more productive and free.

17. Going "all out" for their college football team.

I'm all for school pride, but I don't see the need in being super serious about it. Throw on a t-shirt or a hat, and call it a day. From experience, most of the girls don't pay attention to the game anyway.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
