If you're anything like me, Christmas break is a win-lose situation. You get to see your family, your pets, and your home friends and you get to eat home cooked food, drive your car, and take a shower without shoes, which are all "wins".

But, Christmas break means 4 weeks without your college friends, freedom, and your roommate, which is a total "lose." As much as I love being home, I'm already itching to go back to school for another semester. My roommate and I talk about it almost constantly, and I'm sure you and your roommates do too. Here are 17 texts you send your college roommate over Christmas Break.

1. Answer your phone I'm bored.

2. Watch this movie/ TV show/ youtube video

With all of this new free time, you finally can start binge-watching all of the movies and shows you didn't get to watch because you were studying. Since you can't watch them together, you send all of your faves to your roommate so you can talk about them together.

3. Can we go to _________ when we get back?

Whether it's a restaurant, excursion, or store, you already are making plans for when you return to school.

4. How many days till we go back?

Did I mention I was bored?

5. Shit, I left my ________ at school!

Realizing you left your makeup brushes, your favorite sweatshirt, or your computer charger is the worst

6. Do we have to buy our books for next semester soon?

Oh yeah, we have to go back to class soon...

7. I forgot what showering without shoes felt like

Your first shower at home is a magical experience that you know your roommate will relate to

8. Tell your parents I miss them

Their family is your family and you miss them too

9. Why do I miss dining hall food?

Though nothing compares to home cooked meals and your favorite restaurants at home, you still find your self-craving your favorite foods to eat on campus

10. I miss my bed

Maybe it's the expensive mattress cover I have at school, or the small, cozy dorm but my bed at home is nowhere near as comfortable as my bed at school

11. I miss you

After spending every day together, going more than a few hours apart is painful

12. I wish we were snuggling in our dorm

The best part of life with a roommate is having a built-in sleepover every night and someone to cuddle with after a long day

13. I wish you didn't live so far

A 2-minute walk turned into an 8-hour drive, RIP.

14. Let's buy plane tickets to go on vacation together for spring break

Because this break was too long apart, you know you can't do it again

15. You'll never guess who texted/Snapchatted me

Being apart means missing out on all of the drama. Whether it's a dicey message from someone at school or someone at home, it has to be shared instantly.

16. Why won't _______ text/Snapchat me?

Sometimes you need your BFF to remind you that that boy sucks or that girl never was your friend

17. New year/ New semester, NEW US

With a new semester and a new year approaching, it's time to reflect on the past semester and everything that you two want to do differently this coming year. Cheers to a new year filled with new memories, good or bad.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
