17 Stages Of Your Friends Going Abroad, As Told By 'Friends'

Going abroad is a beautiful time filled with self discovery, traveling, memorable nights, and delicious food. Those abroad get a chance to immerse themselves in a new culture thus perceiving the world through a foreign lens. They live in an unfamiliar country and come to know it as their own. Ask anyone about traveling aboard, and they all seem to carry the same sentiments. Traveling during college opens the mind to a world filled with potential and possibility.

Sounds great, right? No. Nope. Wrong. For those remaining behind watching their friends bid the United States farewell, it can be quite the struggle.

Disclaimer: The following is a loose adaptation based on personal experience and true events.

The big announcement. Your friends first reveal their study abroad plans: Europe 2k16.

You still can't get over the initial shock because you really don't understand why they're leaving. American has plenty to offer -- go explore the next town over.

You don't want to hear anymore about it, so you do the only mature thing...

Unfortunately, it doesn't take too long for reality to hit you. Hard.

You pretend to be happy for them anyways because, after all, they're your BFFs. And when they're happy, so are you.

Soon enough, they start planning excursions and ask if you'd be willing to help.

The squad decides that everyone needs a night out, but that quickly goes south as Adele songs start flirting with your emotions.

Naturally, you take a mental walk down memory lane.

You reminisce about rejuvenating midnight singing sessions. "Seasons of Love" is your go-to.

And 9 times out of 10, the singing was accompanied with some serious choreographed dancing.

All the terrible inside jokes you guys shared. ~Unagi~.

You snapped back to reality and disregard your crumbling feelings. *Focus on the party. Focus on the moment.*

You realize that you're causing a scene, so you quickly compose yourself together. *Deep breathing.*

Bystanders ask if everything is OK, to which you respond appropriately.

An apology for being emotionally unstable is fitting for the situation.

Heading home, you realize that, even if your BFF is gone, pizza will forever be there.

Although they haven't left yet, you can't help but secretly count down the days for their return.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
