19 Signs You've Found Your Best Friend For Life

We all have that one person in our lives that we know will be there for us no matter what. She is that person who has been with us through thick and thin and will continue to be there throughout the years. She knows your deepest secrets, so you have to keep her around. She is your best friend and is that one person that your life would be empty without.

1. They know you better than you know yourself

While you may deny that you are upset or mad, they can see through the façade.

2. You have so many inside jokes that often others get lost in your conversations

Sometimes you forget your inside jokes aren't common knowledge.

3. Your family is their family and vice versa

You’ve gone on family vacations together and have hung out so much their family has been forced to accept you.

4. You have random deep conversations

What is the meaning of life?

5. You have your hang out places

You have those places the two of you have been going to for years and they have become a second home.

6. Every boyfriend has to go through approval with her first

After Facebook stalking and looking through endless photos of this new man in your life, your best friend can make or break the relationship. If she doesn’t approve of him, then you can almost guarantee there won’t be a relationship.

7. It’s acceptable to send them a thousand texts in a row

A best friend is that one person you can call or text at 3 a.m. She’ll always pick up the phone and won’t be annoyed when you send her multiple texts in a row.

8. Sometimes they feel like your mother

Just like your mother your best friend does their best to watch your back and only wants the best for you.

9. You have a look

You have telepathy, or at least, it feels like it. With just one look at your best friend you can immediately tell what she’s thinking. It’s a sixth sense that only works with her.

10. Silence is no longer awkward silence between the two of you

You’re at that point where you no longer always need conversation, you can sit in silence and feel just as comfortable as when you’re having a conversation.

11. They know your cell phone password

You know each other so well you no longer care if they use it.

12. You can eat an entire slab of ribs in front of them and not feel judged

You’ve both judged each other long ago, so there aren’t any more judgments to be made.

13. All disputes you have, turn into sob fests about how much you love each other

It's impossible to stay mad at them.

14. It's nearly impossible to take a selfie without them

And you wonder why you have so many profile pictures with them.

15. When you go out to restaurants they ask if the check is together

This happens way too often.

16. You have impromptu movie nights and gawk at your celebrity crushes

What's a movie night without Taylor Lautner or Josh Hutcherson?

17. You have so many nicknames for each other

So many that you have lost count.

18. They are your therapist and you are theirs

You tell them everything (sometimes too much).

19. They are your sibling

In the end, even with all your craziness, they accept you for who you are and love you like a sibling.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
