I may be the youngest, but I'm not a baby.

17 Signs You're The Youngest Sibling

Every younger sibling knows there are undeniable benefits that come with being the last-born child in the family. That said, being the youngest isn't the cakewalk that everyone else makes it out to be. Here are 17 all too familiar things that describe the perspective of the youngest sibling.

1. You rarely got caught for lying as a child.

Turning on the water works was always the move in order to avoid a timeout.

2. But when you were actually telling the truth, you got in trouble.

Well played, older siblings.

3. You developed trust issues at an early age thanks to sibling rivalries.

All that tattle-tailing and pranking left a permanent scar.

4. Your friends who are the oldest child think your life is so easy.

You can't bear when your friends complain about their younger siblings "getting everything they want" because "everything goes their way." They clearly don't understand how it works.

5. You grew up with stricter rules since your older siblings got to make all the mistakes.

Older sibling: "Mom, can I go out?"

Mom: "Yeah, sure! Have a good time and call me when you get there!"

Youngest sibling: "Mom, can I go out?"

Mom: "I'll need to meet the parents of these 'friends' of yours, and I would like an hourly update on your location and estimated time of arrival back home."

6. You constantly feel the pressure to live up to the legacy of your older sibling(s).

You can't afford to bomb that test because your brother/sister got an A-plus when they took it.

7. You’re still “the baby” of the family.

I'm in college. Really, guys?

8. And forever the butt of nearly every family joke.

Yes, I know I had spaghetti all over my face at the dinner table that one time. No, I have no recollection of it, because I was only two.

9. The phrase “when you get older” haunts you.

Forever anticipating the days when you get to make fun of your siblings for being old.

10. Hand-me-downs can be just as exciting as new clothes.

Well, sometimes ...

11. The struggle to be "cool" with your older siblings' friends was so real.

But in reality, you just didn't want to be left out of the afternoon viewing of "Lizzie McGuire."

12. Your favorite memories come from the days when your older siblings were left in charge at home.

Get out the candy and sodas! We're watching PG-13 movies tonight!

13. You're accustomed to being mistaken for your older siblings by new teachers.

Nope, that's my sibling's name. You know, the one that graduated last year?

14. And you're tired of hearing "Wow, you look just like your brother/sister!"

We don't even look that similar if you're really paying attention.

15. You purposely tried different hobbies to stand out from your siblings.

I understand that we're in the same family -- that doesn't make us the same.

16. If you and your older siblings couldn't agree on a TV show, you automatically lost the argument.

I missed so much "SpongeBob SquarePants" because of you ...

17. Some days are difficult, but you wouldn't trade your siblings for the world.

We didn't always agree (heck, we still don't), but thanks for always being there for me as a role model and a friend.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
