Whether we want it to happen or not, the awful, dreadful part of the semester is approaching in just a couple of weeks - midterms. If it has already happened to you, I am so sorry. The studying has commenced, the coffee is being consumed and the all-nighters are happening. We can’t avoid it. We can’t hide from it. It’s unavoidable. Here are 17 signs that worst is about to come your way.
1. The library is getting to be a tad more crowded than usual.
The smart students who’ve skipped ahead and have been at the library for a while are the ones noticing the extra stragglers coming in. It’s one week, maybe two weeks before midterms, and the studying craze begins.
2. Starbucks is starting to see the same faces more than once a day.
Coffee keeps us awake and prepared for tests, right?
3. All of a sudden, Netflix doesn’t become the main tab you open up anymore.
All of a sudden you miss episodes of your favorite shows.
4. Your sleep schedule starts to get weird.
Sleep in the day, and work at night? Or is it the other way around?
5. You’re counting down the days til it’s over and it hasn’t’ even started yet.
SOS.
6. Your roommates start to wonder where you are.
Sorry, I had to make the library my home if I wanted to get everything done before midterms.
7. Instead of hearing parties all night, it’s actually silent.
Saturday nights aren’t for turning up anymore. At least for a couple of weeks anyway.
8. You start to crave human interaction.
All you’ve been doing is hiding in your room or the library.
9. The syllabus is haunting.
Getting closer and closer to “test” written in bold.
10. Your laundry basket in your room is starting to look like more like a mountain of clothes.
There is no time to wash clothes; this is a time to wear workout clothes. They don’t get gross if you don’t work out, right?
11. You start to miss all your favorite workout classes at the ARC for the sake of studying.
Damn you, midterms!
12. You pick the class you know you’re going to do the worst in and cry the hardest for and study that first.
13. Your professor starts to say “hint hint: this will be on the test,” a little more than usual.
Stop it. I know the exam is coming, so please don’t remind me.
14. You start to call your mom more than once a day.
Each time with a new problem to have a mental breakdown over.
15. You start praying a little more than usual.
Please, don’t make me fail out of college. Please don’t make me a hobo.
