17 Times Short People Should Bless Up Throughout The Day Because Being Short Is Awesome

Tall people are jealous of all your legroom and wish they could stretch out on couches like you can.

I read an article online that said short girls hate being called cute and tiny. In most scenarios, that’s simply not true.

Those of us who have embraced our short stature are totally OK with being picked up, spun around, and don’t mind people acknowledging our height. We like being fun-sized!

And if you have a bad attitude about being short, you’re missing out on all the benefits of being vertically challenged! OK, so you can never become a Victoria’s Secret Angel, but there are still plenty of reasons why being short is seriously awesome!

1. Blankets are actually long enough.

You never have to worry about having cold feet! You can curl up in a chair or stretch out on a couch and the blanket still covers your tiny toes.

3. You have plenty of legroom everywhere.

Whether it’s the middle seat on a plane or the backseat of a car, there’s plenty of room for your short little legs pretty much anywhere.

4. You don’t have to stress about being taller than your date.

Even the short guys are still slightly taller than you.

5. Your heels can be as high as you want.

You’ll still be shorter than all your friends, so high heels are no big deal.

6. You save a lot of money on clothes.

You can still wear the jeans you bought in high school because you haven’t grown at all.

7. You can shop in any area of a clothing store.

You have more of a variety to choose from when shopping. If you're lucky you may even be short enough to wear the juniors section.

8. You rarely have to worry about bumping your head or ducking under things.

Ceilings, doorways and shower-heads are always tall enough.

9. You’re always in the front of group photos.

Your friends would never make you stand on your tip-toes or chairs to be seen. The spotlight is on you front and center!

10. You never have to worry about blocking everyone else’s view.

Don’t you hate when a really tall person sits or stands in front of you at a concert? Lucky for you, you’ll never be that annoying because no one has trouble seeing over you!

11. You can squeeze through crowds without people noticing you.

You’re so small they didn’t even realize you were behind them.

12. You probably look younger than you are.

Which means it's probably pretty easy for you to play the “cute”card and bat your eyes to get your way. Like when you want your bf to stop taking pics because you're trying to fix your hair and he's not cooperating.

13. You’ll always be carded since you look so young.

This may be annoying at first, but as you age it transitions from annoying to flattering.

14. Strangers will offer to help you carry stuff because you’re so dainty.

People are willing to help if they see you struggling with heavy boxes or bulky luggage.

15. You make a really good little spoon.

A lot of guys have figured out that short girls are the best cuddle-buddies.

16. You’re literally fun-sized.

Your tall friends think it’s funny to watch you try to reach for stuff on the top shelf. Your daily struggles entertain them. And it always feels good to make your friends laugh or smile, even when you weren't trying to be funny. Being fun just comes naturally to you.

"I've only slept nine hours over the past four days, so I'm right on the verge of a nervous breakdown." - Leslie Knope

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

1. When you've finally found the energy to leave your dorm room and walk into the lib like

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
