Adulthood: the place of mystery that no one really knows about until you're thrown into it. I'm here to challenge that mystery, to put to bed the stereotype that adulthood is scary, and to shed light on what it's really like to be an adult. Adults everywhere, these questions are for you, and I need answered immediately:

1. What is "adulthood" exactly? Is it a place? A feeling? Because I really am unsure, and at this point, I'm beginning to think it's a myth... like Narnia.

2. Okay, how do you pay taxes? Like, do you just sit and stare at a computer? Pay someone? Do we need to save our receipts? I am confused. Honestly, why don't colleges teach a class on how to do this stuff? Why are taxes so hard?

3. How do adults have fun? A riveting night of board games like CLUE? Wine and cheese? Please, spill. Also, if you do play board games, dibs on Mr. Plum.

4. Does your degree actually matter? Or am I wasting four years of my life? I mean, how much geology do I really have to know if I'm not going to be a biologist?

5. What does true love feel like? Is it magical like a Disney movie? If it's not, I demand a refund from every single Disney-themed item I have ever purchased.

6. What kind of music do you guys listen to? More so, when exactly do adults stop listening to pop music? Did you just one day switch off Britney and switch on Beethoven?

7. Do you still try to be hip? At one point, do you give up trying to be hip? Like do you try to learn to whip and nae nae, or will you throw out your back?

8. What is like having a full time job? Fun? Hellish? Do you cry yourself to sleep at night? Because I won't tell anyone if you do, pinky swear.

9. Why do you think our generation sucks? Is it because of Justin Bieber and the Kardashians? Honestly, I wouldn't blame you if that was your reasoning.

10. When does maturity happen? Did you just wake up one day and feel like a different person? It kind of sounds like puberty 2.0.

11. Is the world a worse or better place now? Because often it feels as if the world's got both worse and better over time.

12. How hard is it to learn to cook? Like seriously, how hard? Because sometimes I feel like I could burn cereal without trying. No really, I would find a way to burn cereal or freeze noodles or something. It's bound to happen.

13. Why do you guys make so many rules for us kids? We can't be that bad. Whatever happened to learning from our mistakes? Is that still a thing?

14. Why do some of you continue to spread and teach hate? Can't you see that treating someone as your inferior is wrong? I just will never understand why we can't teach all kids compassion. It's not hard.

15. What's the best cure for a broken heart? Because honestly, sometimes crying and chocolate just doesn't cut it. Honestly, TLC and ice cream doesn't really cut it either.

16. Is it exciting that NASA just found water on Mars? Because wow, ALIENS! I'm so excited, but I just really need to know that adults are excited too because wow, ALIENS. I know I already said that but I just really want Aliens to be real. Please bear with me.

17. And lastly, when does the idea of being an adult stop being scary? Because honestly, I'm scared out of my mind. There just seems to be so much responsibility that I'm not prepared for.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
