You may have heard these before, and maybe not. Here is what I learned my freshman year! Don't stress about moving away from home. It's a great experience. I have met my best friends that I know that I will know for the rest of my life. I have made mistakes, and have learned from them. Your college years are some of the best years of your life.
1. You have a lot of free time.
2. Saying goodbye to mom and dad is much harder than you may think.
3. There is no such thing as a non-party school. Sorry!
4. You are going to make friends, and you're going to lose friends. It's just going to happen.
5. You don't have to pull all-nighters if you don't have to. I have made it to the end of my freshman year and I have never pulled an all-nighter.
6. The "Freshman 15" is real!
7. Getting enough sleep is so important.
8. You are going to want alone time. You may think you want to be around your friends 24/7, but trust me, you don't.
9. If you don't understand something you learned in class, go talk to your professors! Trust me, they want to see you. They care about you, and want to see you succeed.
10. You will either be very ready to go back to school after a holiday or you won't.
11. Use the money you have very wisely. Becoming a broke college student is very easy.
12. Don't pay attention to the rude people on Yik Yak.
13. Participate in the events put on by your school! You won't regret it. They are usually way more fun than you expect.
14. Netflix binge-watching becomes real.
15. Don't take classes that you aren't interested in, unless of course you have to take them for a general education requirement.
16. Take pictures! You're going to want to remember all the memories.
