It all started 16 years ago, at a birthday party she was forced to attend, by her parents; but something magical happened that day.
Now, through the course of 16 amazing years later, a bond grew so strong that it could never be broken.
1. When you call her you don't even start with hello, you literally just start saying whatever (or whoever) is bugging you.
Then after you spill your entire guts she tells you the honest truth. The brutally honest truth...
2. You start to get really really sad knowing you go to different colleges and that you never see each other, so your nights start to look like this:
3. Yet somehow she always knows when you're having one of those nights, so she'll send you a sappy "I miss and love you so much" text.
4. When the two of you finally get together, the reunion is nothing short of dramatic.
5. At this stage you are totally comfortable with your relationship, no matter how strange it may seem to outsiders.
6. She thinks your jokes are hilarious because you have the same type of humor (most of the time)
7. She doesn't comfort you with a lie; she will tell you what you need to hear no matter how harsh it may be.
8. Saying goodbye is actually the worst. You go from happy to depressed in one second.
9. All of those ballet classes you took together as children have surely paid off.
10. No topic of discussion is off the table, in fact, the weirder the conversation the better. You both actually try to gross each other out.
11. You always have the same conversation about running away together. Always.
12. You are both on the same page about the important things in life.
13. You aren't even jealous of their other friends anymore, because you know that you are their number one every time, anytime. And that if that one chick tries to do ANYTHING to get in the way of your perfect friendship you will chase her out of town.
14. She understands that your skills at flirting are what we would call, sub-par...
...But she knows how you can handle the situation
15. When the two of you go out together you turn into a sassy dynamic duo. (Whom the public should fear, due to high amounts of sarcasm.)
16. You've officially been friends for long enough that nothing can get in the way of your friendship. You could go months without talking, years without seeing each other, but you know that the moment you need one another they will be there, willing to do anything you ask. Because after 16 years, there is no other long term relationship for you.
Fun Fact about the inspiration:
This last month was the 16th anniversary of my friendship with the coolest person around. We met at my 6th birthday party because her mother forced us to be friends. We grew up in different towns but saw each other when we could, which was the foundation of an amazing friendship. She now attends UNLV where she is a Junior in Alpha Xi Delta. We love food, gossip, bad jokes, and we miss each other terribly.
