16 Stages Of Packing Up Your Adolescence

It once was crazy to imagine packing up so much stuff into so few boxes, but now it's time for you to actually do it!

Packing up your entire life up to this point may seem like a daunting challenge. I'm not going to tell you this isn't true, because it is. But have no fear! Everyone eventually has to face this challenge, and here are the 16 steps you can expect to experience as you tackle this beast.

1. Procrastination

You know the day is coming. You're going to have to somehow pack your life up into boxes, bins, the works. You know you have way more stuff than what you actually see. You are not ignorant of these warnings; you've done your Pinterest homework. However, none of these things will stop you from waiting until the absolute last minute to consider actually packing.

2. Making The Plan

You've now decided that today's the day you'll get your life together and pack it all up. So now you begin to plan out how you'll tackle the monster that is your bedroom. If you're like me and want to start with the hardest part, definitely mark "clothes" as number one on the list!

3. Picking The Pump Up Music

Okay so you've got it all planned out, it'll be a breeze.....right? Well, it definitely won't be if you're bored to tears, so now you've got to set up an epic playlist to make the time pass by faster! Pandora is your friend here.

4. Snack

All of this planning, organizing, and motivating has now left you famished. Time to whip up an energizing snack (or full course meal, no one is judging here). You venture into the kitchen to have an apple, then you spot the peanut butter, then you see the cereal, then the popcorn...The next thing you know another hour has passed. But hey, you finally decided on something to eat, and it was delicious!

5. Actually Starting

You're energized, pumped up, and have everything all planned out. Now it's time to actually begin! Fear not, the closet is not really a black hole of old T-shirts, it just seems that way.

6. Noticing That Half Of Your Wardrobe Doesn't Even Fit Anymore

You didn't plan on trying on every article of clothing you own, but now you're questioning those jeans from sophomore year. What about the American Eagle tank that you thought you threw out last year? Hold on, do the "new" skinny jeans still fit? Dang it, so does that mean the blouse you got for Christmas still fits? Time to find out.

7. Parting With Your Eighth Grade Soccer T-shirt That Shouldn't Fit, But Does

You've stumbled across your favorite old t-shirt. You know that as a college student, you shouldn't wear this old thing, but it's stretched to the point of now being very comfy "big t-shirt" day attire. You do the right thing and throw it onto the "discard" pile, but you know good and well that it will magically appear in your dorm room.

8. Congratulating Yourself For Finishing Your Wardrobe

You finished the clothes part! You're not quite sure how much time has passed at this point, but who cares because you're done!! Well, with the wardrobe at least.

9. Snack, Again

You're once again famished, so you head back to the kitchen for a "pick me up." You're more careful this time though, and stick to something basic. This break only took half an hour; you're getting better at this!

10. Deciding To Continue On And Tackle Your Miscellaneous Drawers

After you've filled your tummy with food and your heart with bliss, you decide to not be a quitter. You go ahead and start emptying your drawers, only to uncover the most random objects you could ever imagine finding in your bedroom. Is that your mood ring from sixth grade?

11. Finding That Earbud That You've Been Looking For Since Christmas Of 2012

Who knew that when you thought you looked everywhere for it, you actually missed the bottom left corner of your night stand drawer? Of course this doesn't matter now because you threw those headphones out a long time ago, but at least you have the relief of knowing your dog didn't actually eat it.

12. Unveiling An Old Picture Of You And A Distant Friend

Throwback to eighth grade formal. You and your bestie were so cute. That was an unforgettable school year, and formal was the most fabulous night of your adolescence.... Lol okay maybe not.

13. Spending The Next Hour Reminiscing And Wondering What Went Wrong In That Relationship

Wait, so what happened? Is she still living in that old blue house two blocks away? Did she graduate? Is she packing up her life too? Does she even remember eighth grade formal? *tears*

14. Exhaustion Sets In

Your arms are tired. Your head is pounding. Your stomach is nauseous. Your legs are aching. Your back is sore. You did not prepare for this to be an all day cardio and strength regimen. Trying on clothes took a big toll, but crouching down for hours cleaning out dressers and drawers? Oh, the pain.

15. Making Coffee/Tea/A Cup Of Caffeine

Self-talk is key at this point. Get some caffeine, and press on. You've got this.

16. Allowing The Adrenaline To Take Over

You feel the adrenaline kicking in. Somehow, you mindlessly start tossing things into piles. Before you know it, the tornado that hit your room is steadily subsiding. After the caffeine wears off, you take a look around and applaud yourself, because you're finished!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
