The end of each semester brings a chaotic combination of declining morale, high-stake exams, and homesickness. On top of all this stress, the last thing you need to worry about is how to eat.
Yet, unfortunately, if you attend a school with a declining meal plan, this just may be the case. No matter how hard you try, it can be difficult to stay on budget. Here are 16 signs your meal plan is getting low:
1. Checking your meal balance becomes a traumatic experience.
2. So you try to do the "adult" thing and begin budgeting your meals.
3. But that becomes old quick and you end up splurging on Ben and Jerry's every night anyways.
4. You begin to justify the extra spending on dessert and international dishes by surviving on ramen and granola bars during the day.
5. And you become an expert at making leftovers last.
6. Eventually, you're that friend who's always complaining and asking for "donations."
7. Or trying to convince your crew to get off campus once in a while.
8. Soon enough you realize someone you know has nearly $800 left on their plan.
9. Basically, you just found your next best friend.
10. It only takes a couple meals to make you feel guilty from mooching, so you go back to scheming new plans.
11. And stealing meals crosses your mind more than once (it's alright, we've all tried).
12. You revert to attending any event or club that has free food.
13. And you know it gets real bad when you start posting in your class Facebook page...and every other grade's...
14. You really should just call your parents to add more to your plan, but you're so conflicted because after all, they are paying for tuition.
15. You make the executive decision to at least last until Thanksgiving.
16. Because after all, stocking up on food is what the holidays are for, right?
