What I regret, and how I'll change them in the New Year

16 Regrets In 2016

It is true that a lot can happen in a year. I've learned, grown, and am becoming a person that I am proud to be. It didn't happen over night, though. This year alone I've cried more times that I everhave in my life, had more happy moments, and more challenges that any year previous to this. However, I've also had some regrets this year.

1. Not dying my hair before now

I should have been born a redhead - just saying.

2. Not getting rid of toxic friendships sooner

3. Not taking more opportunities to say "I love you"

I love you, I love you, I love you!

4. Not having more lake days

5. Not sticking to my New Year's Resolution

There's always 2017, right?

6. Not living in the moment

And worrying too much about "aesthetic" or some other bull-sh*t word for "conceited millennial"

7. Caring too much about what others think of me

8. Talking negatively to myself

9. Still being insecure about my body

10. Not hitting the delete button more often

I mean, it's there for a reason.

11. Being impatient

12. Holding back my emotions

When it is completely fine to show them!

13. Not knowing how to fix a flat tire

Until it's pouring rain and I had to learn then and there

14. Not starting my album collection sooner

15. Not saying "Thank you" enough

Or saying it just to say it, and not truly, really, and genuinely meaning it

16. Not loving myself until now

I shared all of these 16 regrets to prevent 17 more of them in the New Year. This coming year, I will change these regrets and create joy! Make the most of each moment, don't care what others think of you, love your body - it's the only one you have, and be grateful. This is my wish to myself and to you in the year 2017.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
