The Summer 2016 Rio Olympics are in full swing! As a majority of Americans sit in awe of the talented athletes, there's been memes all over the internet of things like, "16-year-old Olympians and I still push pull doors" which -- overshared, yes, but also relatable. Sitting on the couch kicking ourselves, asking why can't we do stuff like that, us common American college kids have to remember our skills. Here are 16 events that are suitable for college kids.

1. Making it to an 8 a.m. on a Friday.

No matter how, unconventional, the approach, you have to make it to class.

2. Surviving a meal from the dining hall.

Make the food fear you, eat or be eaten.

3. Avoiding any weekend mistakes during the weekdays.

Mindy Kaling understands my life.

4. Keeping the freshmen 15 to a minimum.

5. Attending all of your classes for the week.

Paying attention is questionable, but you went to all of them.

6. Remembering your mom's birthday.

Birthdays can also extend to other days that are important to your mom.

7. Not crying over missing your dog more than once a week.

Even though it's hard, you have to be strong for the both of you

8. Doing your laundry.

Doing also entails folding it and putting it away.

9. Eating some form of vegetables.

As hard as it may seem, eat the salad and not the pizza.

10. Getting along with your roommate(s).

Honestly, anyone who does this deserves a medal.

11. Still having dinning dollars after the third week of the term.

It's true that the food that costs these fake dollars taste better than the meal swipe food, but keeping control of this spending will have your stomach thanking you towards the end of the term.

12. Remembering your online class.

Online classes are a blessing because you don't have to show up, but you have to remember that they exist.

13. Staying healthy.

A major challenge for any college student is fighting the germs and staying healthy while everyone else around you could be dying.

14. Sleeping on a regular schedule.

It's easy to go to college and completely abandon the whole concept of a good night's sleep.

15. Netflix marathons.

Some people don't have the stamina to make it through two+ complete seasons in one sitting

16. Balancing a social life, study time and sleep time.

Somehow, some people can get all three in.

Any of these 16 things can be seen as competition to a college kid. Keep in mind that we're pretty awesome too and even if we can't run 100 meters in like five seconds, we can binge watch Netflix. Go USA!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
