Nothing beats driving around with the windows down and your hair blowing in the hot summer wind. There's just something about this time of year that makes us all feel so liberated and ecstatic. Whether you're at the beach, tailgating for a concert or just hanging out with some friends, these summer country hits will have you feeling unstoppable. So grab a speaker, grab some friends and get outside.

1. "T-Shirt" - Thomas Rhett

Thomas Rhett has gained a lot of popularity lately. He's been climbing the charts and there's simply no stopping him. "T-Shirt" is just one of the many feel good songs on TR's album, "Tangled Up".

2. "Snapback" - Old Dominion

Old Dominion is not your average country band. They don't drive trucks, wear cowboy boots or have a southern drawl. They're fairly new but don't let that stop you from listening to their most recent album titled, "Old Dominion".

3. "I Like The Sound Of That" - Rascal Flatts

Rascal Flatts has come a long way from "Life Is A Highway". Even though they haven't come out with anything in a while, they have proved that they're not going anywhere anytime soon.

4. "Head Over Boots" - Jon Pardi

Jon Pardi may be the new kid on the block, but he puts any doubts to bed on his brand new album titled, "California Sunrise".

5. "Noise" - Kenny Chesney

Kenny is back at it again with another summer hit. Last summer, "American Kids" was a staple to any country playlist. He's known for his beachy persona, so he's guaranteed to produce a great summer song.

6. "Backroad Song" - Granger Smith

Granger Smith hasn't had too many chart toppers... lately at least. He's been producing music since 1999, but has been gaining a large amount of popularity from this song. He's a Dallas native after all, so he's about as authentic as it gets.

7. "Somewhere On A Beach" - Dierks Bentley

"Somewhere On A Beach" is the sequel to "Drunk On A Plane" (both music videos are hysterical). Dierks seems so relatable and down to earth and really exhibits that in his videos. He always has a smile on his face and a drink in his hand, which is why this is such a great drinking song.

8. "Wasted Time" - Keith Urban

This Aussie can melt your heart with practically any of his songs. His lyrics are always amazing and he never fails to produce a catchy song. That says a lot since he's been a country music icon since the 90s.

9. " American Country Love Song

" - Jake Owen

Jake Owen is another beachy kind of guy like Kenny Chesney. This song should be on every country playlist this summer because it's been breaking the charts. "Beachin'" was another one of his summer hits and it's just as awesome as this summer anthem.

10. "Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day" - Luke Bryan

Luke Bryan is the epitome of country. This music video makes you want to live down South and be a part of this lifestyle. The boat, the house on the lake, friends and family - it's picture perfect. The song is ideal for the, "I love you bro", stage of drunkenness because it really hits home.

11. "80s Mercedes" - Maren Morris

This song is #goals for all the ladies. Picture driving down the coast of California in a Mercedes convertible while all the guys just drop to their knees due to your sheer presence. Now take that idea and add 80 degrees and sunny skies, and you have your new summer jam for the girls.

12. "I Love This Life" - LOCASH

This song is #SquadGoals. Loving life, friends, family and simple pleasures led these guys to create this awesome, feel-good song. Give their whole album a listen, it's totally worth it.

13. "Castaway" - Zac Brown Band

No, not like "Cast Away" the movie. ZBB is like the love child of folk, rock, and a little bit of pop. They have such an eclectic style that somehow always results in pure magic. This song is guaranteed to make you feel like you're on a beach with a nice cold drink in your hand.

14. "Beautiful Drug" - Zac Brown Band

Like I said, ZBB has a pretty diverse sound. This song brings their pop side into play with it's fast paced beat, yet it still has the country aspect that they're known for.

15. "Fix" - Chris Lane

Chris Lane is fairly new to the country music game but don't let that fool you. He reminds me of the typical motorcycle-riding bad boy that your parents told you to stay away from. But on the same token you get that feeling of sheer freedom when you listen to his music because it's almost like you're going against your parents rules (following the whole bad boy metaphor). He's also pretty easy on the eyes, and that's always a plus.

16. "Vacation" - Thomas Rhett

I admittedly didn't like this song at first. It was like TR was trying to go for the talking/singing thing that Sam Hunt does in a lot of his songs (i.e." Break Up In A Small Town"). But once you watch the video and give it a chance, I promise you it will grow on you in the best way possible. Plus him and his wife, Lauren, are the epitome of relationships goals (they've known each other since first grade).

I hope these summer songs make you feel all sorts of happy! So get outside, grab some friends and enjoy the sun with these country, feel-good summer anthems.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Here's a personal archive of a few of the things I learned after going away for the first time.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
