Ever since you bought your first eye shadow palette, you haven't been able to stop. Here are some ways to accept your makeup addiction.
1. A large percentage of the accounts you follow on Instagram are related to makeup.
From the collages of eye makeup to the short time-lapse videos of a makeup artist doing their makeup, makeup Instagram accounts are a fun (and time-consuming) thing to see on your feed.
2. Whenever you’re bored, you automatically get the urge to do your makeup.
Especially after getting inspiration from an Instagram picture or a YouTube tutorial, you basically end up doing your makeup every day.
3. The best compliment someone can give you is that your makeup looks bomb.
If you spent over an hour doing your makeup, the best thing anyone can say to you is that your makeup looks amazing. Trust me, it will make your entire week.
4. Going into a Sephora or Ulta can be extremely dangerous and damaging to your bank account.
Let's face it, walking around a makeup store feels like being a kid in a candy store. Makeup is your weakness.
5. Whenever you go into a makeup store, you leave with both hands and arms covered in swatches of makeup.
While you're in the makeup store, you only have so much skin to cover with swatches, so you have to choose carefully which eye shadows, blushes, and highlighters make the cut. Which basically ends up being all of them.
6. You have one makeup brand that you’re completely loyal to, and every time they come out with a new product, you feel like you need to buy it immediately.
My personal favorite makeup brand is Too Faced, so when I hear they're coming out with a new eye shadow palette (just in time for the holidays!), I fall in love immediately.
7. Makeup tutorials on YouTube take up at least 90 percent of your free time.
Once you start watching one, at least 20 more follow.
8. Whenever you walk into a drugstore, you automatically walk over to the makeup aisle because it’s the only makeup you’re able to afford.
Drugstore makeup is the best because 1. it's cheap, and 2. it's great quality!
9. You feel like you can’t leave the house without doing your brows and mascara.
Even when you don't want to wear makeup, you still do your brows and mascara. It becomes a part of you.
10. The only thing you ask for on occasions is either makeup or money to buy makeup.
It's basically the only thing you want. I know 90 percent of my Christmas list this year is makeup.
11. When you hear your friend is getting a new makeup palette for Christmas, you get excited as well, because you know you’re going to get to play around with it, too.
You can bet your bottom dollar that I'm just as excited as my friend for the new Urban Decay palette she's getting for Christmas.
12. You’ve spent hours upon hours trying to perfect your winged liner.
The sign of a great makeup artist is perfecting your winged liner. It's not as easy as it looks and can take months to get perfect for your eye shape.
13. It is physically hard for you to go out with friends without doing your makeup.
Wearing makeup becomes such an important step in your daily routine that you feel like you need it before you leave to go anywhere.
14. Makeup brushes are your weakness.
Makeup brushes are just as important as the makeup itself. I have spent $14 on a single makeup brush and have absolutely no regrets.
15. Your dream is to have enough money to afford as much expensive makeup as you want.
This picture basically embodies what I want my vanity to look like one day.
16. You feel like you can’t live without makeup, and you wear it not because you think you need it, but because it makes you feel great.
Makeup is supposed to be for fun, so don't take it too seriously, and never let anyone tell you you're wearing too much or too little makeup. Makeup is a way of self-expression, and if it makes you feel more confident, then you do you, girl.
May your winged liner always be even and your brows always be fabulous.
