College work is hard, but getting out of doing college work is harder. Here are a few tips in procrastination from a pro:
1.Go get food.
Humans need food to thrive and without food, you’ll die. Just mosey on down to the dining hall and get some food or just dessert (you can never go wrong there).
2.Go explore.
College means a new town (well for most of us). Go on and explore your new home and check out the cool things it has to offer.
3.See what everyone else is doing.
Go on and make some friends. You are not the only person trying to procrastinate. There is a whole floor of kids trying to procrastinate. Don’t be rude though, there might be a few kids really trying to concentrate.
4.Check out your campus.
Your room is not the only place that is new to you. The campus has a lot to offer and is totally work a look around. You never know when you might find something crazy awesome.
5.Social Media: DUH
Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter- all of those amazing forms of procrastination built into an app. It doesn’t matter if you have already seen that, look again you might have missed something.
6.Check on your friends from home.
Even if they went to another college or are still home, hit them up. See how they are adjusting or if anything has changed. Obviously, you aren’t there anymore and that is a huge difference.
7.Did I say go find food?
8.Catch up on Netflix.
I know it started out as one episode, well now it is the whole season. That is okay, it happens to the best of us.
9.Clean up.
I know it sounds weird to use cleaning to procrastinate, but you can’t study on a dirty desk. That is too much clutter, go take out the trash too. It is getting messy.
10.Write an article.
Might as well write an article about my procrastination so you can learn what not to do next time, clearly that is where you went wrong.
11.Go shopping.
New town means new stores. You could always get new clothes, new year new you!
12.Bother your roommate.
They are probably jealous of your serious procrastination skills, show them the way.
13.Do something tedious.
It is something that you really don’t have to do, but it might help in the long run. Examples: flash cards, a color code system, a picture to represent your work.
14.Go see a movie.
There is always time to see a movie. Always.
15.Repeat these steps until 10 pm the night before.
Good luck.
