15 Things You Know to be True if You're a GCSU Bobcat

Who knew that in such a short time I'd be able to call this crazy place my home. If you're a bobcat, you get it. But it's hard to explain to everyone else just what life here is like. Here are 15 things you know to be true if you go to GCSU.

1. You feel like your calves should look like this from all the walking you do.

2. The hardest workout you'll ever do is opening the handicap door of A&S.

3. There's a sense of shame in using the elevator in the classroom buildings. You must take the stairs.

4. Your new definition of "downtown" is a place that's really only a couple blocks.

5. Missing Target everyday.

6. Saying you go to school in Milledgeville and people either saying "Where is that?" or "The place where they send the crazy people?"

7. There's pedestrians everywhere and you've definitely almost hit one with your car before.

8. We're super proud of our undefeated football team.

9. Peches.

10. Whenever you pass a tour group, they all stare at you like a zoo animal.

11. You thank your lucky stars every day that the Walmart is 24 hours

12. And that Cookout is open until unholy hours of the night.

13. You can never find an empty study room in the library.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
