The first week of school has come and gone, and now our expectations are hopeful and high that this new semester will be an absolute breeze. How wrong we all were... Syllabus week is one of the best weeks of the school year because even though we all have to go back to our dreaded 8-a.m.'s (or for the lucky ones that start at 2:00 p.m.), we know that class will only consist of a role call and brief glance at a syllabus we won't pay much attention to until the time comes.
Rolling into week two, we abruptly realize that all our classes really aren't made out of an atmosphere of A-pluses, forgiving professors, and unlimited cute boys. No, week two is a heartbreaker. It can either mark the start of the end, or the start of the best beginning. Week two translates into "the novel you were handed yesterday should be read by tomorrow," or "your first exam is in two weeks." Yes, week two takes everyone prisoner and shows no mercy or remorse.
That said, here's 15 thoughts you've probably had, now that the light-heartedness is over and class is in order:
1. Oh no, he's pulling up a PPT...
2. I can't even remember when this class ends.
3. How are we supposed to read two novels and write a draft by next Friday???
4. Do these people not know that we have a lives outside these four walls?
5. I had so many hopes, so many dreams...
6. Welp, gone now.
7. Wait, our final is at 8 a.m.?
8. You're kidding.
9. Ok, you're not kidding.
10. Oh, you don't give extra credit? ~shocker~
11. Two absences will drop me a letter grade???
12. Right when I thought this was "my year."
13. Spoke to soon--helllllllo, hottie.
14. And hello to you, too, girlfriend-of-hottie.
15. Yep, I'm ready for football season. Like now.
