I love Target--like a lot. I was having a horrible week, and I needed to go to Target to grab a few things before I went home. It was like I took a happy pill. All of the sudden, my mood was transformed from grumpy to totally satisfied on every level of my being. The only part of me that doesn't like Target is my bank account because can we really go in Target and ONLY purchase the two items we need? No. If you are one of those people, then congratulations, you are a mythical unicorn and no one believes you.

Here are 15 thoughts that I have when I go to Target:

1. Being hypnotized by the logo. Must. Spend. All. My. Money.

2. The burst of air you feel when you walk through the doors making you feel like the model you are. Work it girl.

3. *Browsing the dollar section* I'm buying this glass jar that I have no use/ place for because it is only a dollar, and I'll probably definitely need it for something, obviously.

4. Don't look at the clothes. Don't look at the clothes.

5. Oh, look! They have cute new workout clothes. I'll totally start working out more if I was wearing that.

6. I really don't need anymore cardigans, but this one is half of a shade darker than the other four I have at home, and it's only $17.99.

7. I should really leave before I spend too much money.

8. Before I do, I'll just browse the home decor section to get decorating ideas.

9. I totally need these storage bins because I'm not organized and maybe they'll help me become more organized. Plus they're cute.

10. Okay, I really need to leave.

11. $5 movies! I've been wanting to see this one. Oh, it's actually $13? Better get it anyway because I got my hopes up and I don't want to let myself down.

12. Birthday cake gum sounds fun.

13. My total is HOW MUCH?

14. Yeah, I already have a Target card, so I'll definitely be saving 5%, so this is fine.

15. I think I forgot tampons.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
