14 Thoughts We Have During Night Class

Whether you failed to find a decent schedule during the day, or you just wish to brag about how your class schedule remains infinitely worse than anyone else, almost every college student has taken a three to four-hour long night class that I have aptly renamed "living hell." In the hopes that my fellow studious night owls can relate, here are my thoughts during night class.

1. Wow, the sun sets on my beautiful city as I walk to class. Innocent me perpetually forgets that it will be the last glimpse of sun I will see for what feels like eons

2. This class is an eclectic assortment of middle-aged contributing members of society, slackers who are only here so they can avoid 8 a.m., vampires, and a limited selection of seemingly normal human beings

3. I can totally tackle the night class. I am highly caffeinated, full from dinner, and extremely motivated to stay awake

4. I just know that this class will speed by as long as I take diligent notes while simultaneously multitasking by checking Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter

5. *Takes notes* *checks phone* *notices that only 45 seconds elapsed* *swears under breath*

6. The caffeine crash hit. I believe I am lifting 20 pound weights with each blink. Is it possible to die from exhaustion? If so, please time stamp my death certificate in the next 20 minutes. I swear this can't get any worse

7. *Stomach audibly rumbles* Did anyone hear that? Please, please, please say I brought a snack. I proceed to loudly rummage through my bag. My classmates seated around me shoot me a knowing glance

8. Drat, I forgot it. Now, the entire class will have to suffer listening to the cries of my people resonating from my internal organs for the next hour

9. WE MADE IT. *Fist pumps the air like in "The Breakfast Club"*

10. Wait, why is it so dark outside? Did the apocalypse somehow occur while we were trapped inside?

11. *Thinks to self* All horror movies start with shady characters following innocent, naive blondes home during dusk. Wait, I am not blonde, so, by default, I at least will not die first

12. Ah! Was that the wind blowing in the breeze, my shadow, or am I being followed?! I did not even stretch, so I am incredibly ill-prepared to run for my life

13. No one chases the girl running home in the dark, right? *Runs to beat of Destiny Child's "Survivor"*

14. Is it socially acceptable if I go to a party while still wearing my backpack? I guess we will have to find out

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
