15 Thoughts A Girl Has After A Haircut

If you're a girl, you know getting your haircut can be the scariest or greatest thing in the world. Greatest because change, and scariest because you have no idea what your hair dresser plans on doing with those scissors. "Will he listen to what I asked?" "Is he going to cut it too short?" These are the things running through every girl's mind when getting a haircut because you're basically giving all your hair rights away! I love the thought of haircuts, until I walk into the hair salon and second guess every decision I’ve ever made in life. Dramatic I know, but true.

This time around, I was pretty happy with how my hair came out, but there have been times when I got home and bawled my eyes out until I went back and got it fixed. By now, age 20, you'd think I'd have keep the haircutting fears to a minimum, but jokes on you. I don't think anyone really goes into a haircut feeling positive that it will look exactly how you want, unless your mom is your hair dresser (and even then, its iffy). Whatever the case may be, haircuts are scary! I recently got my hair cut and colored because I figured it was time for a change, even if I got off a inch. One inch later, and a lot blonder I had 15 thoughts after I walked out of my salon. And here they are.

1. “OMG, I love my haircut!”

2. “I swear my hair has never been this soft in my life.”

3. “I mean look at my ends, they are not even splitting!”

4. “I swear I’m gonna deep condition my hair once a week now.”

5. “Lemme take a selfie.”

6. “Where's the best lighting?”

7. “I should start getting my haircut once a month because I look so goooood.”

8. “I literally cannot stop touching my hair, I mean touch my hair it is so SOFT.”

9. “I feel my new layers really make my face look slim.”

10. “Maybe my hair is too short. Do you think my hair is too short?”

11. “I told him two inches—I swear, this is like six!”

12. “I’m gonna cry—my hair is gonna take forever to grow back, now!”

13. “I swear, I’m never going back to that hairdresser.”

14. “OK, maybe it does look all right..”

15. “No, it definitely looks good, lemme take a selfie, this is good lighting”

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
