If you're the youngest sibling in your family, then you understand the struggle. So many questions, comparisons, expectations that only happen because you're the youngest one. You love it and hate it at the same time. As the younger sibling, you're almost guaranteed to hear these:
1. "Are you Nick's sister?"
As a matter of fact, yes I am, BUT I HAVE A NAME.
2. "You look just like your brother/sister."
Well, that would make sense considering we're related.
3. "Are you majoring in _____ just like your brother/sister?"
Actually, no I am not. I'm my own person. We have different interests.
4. "How is your brother/sister?"
Oh they're doing really good!! But I'm doing totally fine, thanks for asking.
5. "Do you know where your brother/sister is?"
Sorry, no I don't but I'm sure if you ask him/her they'll tell you.
6. "Your brother/sister is so hot."
PLEASE don't talk to me about this.
7. "Your brother/sister wasn't allowed to do that at your age."
Well... just because they couldn't means I also can't?
8. "I taught your brother/sister also! I bet you're as good of a student as they were."
There's a possibility I may disappoint you.
9. "Will you be the DD for my friends and I?"
If it results in me getting free food, then I might consider it.
10. "I remember when me and your brother/sister..."
If the story doesn't involve me then I can almost promise that at some point I'll stop listening.
11. "Can you text your brother/sister and tell them..."
Please don't make me do it. It's so much easier if you do it yourself.
12. "Is this your shirt or is it your brother's/sister's?"
It's mine. Okay yeah, it may be three times bigger than the size I usually wear, but it's comfortable.
13. "You and your brother/sister are total opposites."
Not sure if I should take that as a compliment or not, but yes we are totally different. Thank you for noticing.
14. "I saw your brother/sister the other day!"
Oh yeah? I'm not entirely sure what to say back so I'm just going to awkwardly shake my head and pretend to be so interested that you saw him/her.
15. Getting referred to by their name instead of yours.
Come on... my name isn't that hard to remember.
