15 Things That Are More Annoying Than Your Group Chat

Group chats are annoying, but probably not the most annoying things.

15 Things That Are More Annoying Than Your Group Chat

It seems as if group chats are the only way we mass communicate now. Long gone are the days of texting everyone in your contacts the same thing so they know what’s going on. I know that I’m personally in four group chats I use regularly, and the moment we start planning anything, things get hectic. People aren’t responding, things get off subject, anything and everything happens except actually planning what’s going on. At this time, all you want to do is mute the group chat but you know as soon as you do, you’ll forget to check it and get lost in the conversation and by that point you’re already 158 texts behind. It’s pretty annoying. But it’s not as annoying as:

1. Stepping in a puddle while wearing socks

2. When your earbuds get tangled in your pocket

3. People who don’t eat string cheese the right way

It’s string cheese!!!!! You’re supposed to peel it!!!

4. People who don't use their blinker when turning

5. Buying a bag of chips and only getting air

6. Getting your shoelace wet and having it hit your ankle repeatedly

7. Waking up at 8:30 on a Saturday morning when you totally could’ve slept until at least 11

Thanks, Mom and Dad.

8. When the rings of your binder start acting up and don’t align

9. Mass class emails asking for notes

I don’t think anyone will help you even if you do send the email five times, I'm sorry.

10. When your pencil does that weird thing and has a little hood after you sharpen it

Why have you forsaken me?

11. When someone turns off the faucet but it’s not completely off so you still hear it dripping

12. Walking behind someone slow, and there’s no room to move around them

My legs are too long for this — I’m sorry, but move.

13. Opening the pack of Oreos to see that there’s none left

Honestly, just throw them away!

14. When you order a sandwich and it comes with a pickle on the side and makes your sandwich taste like pickles.

This might just be me, though.

15. Seeing you have 500 missed texts in your group chat

What happened while I was at work?

I see being in a group chat as a blessing in disguise. Yes, while they are quite annoying, they are not as annoying as some other things we have to deal with. And in the end, they’re a great way to rally a group together and a fun way to communicate with friends.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
