Have you ever had someone tell you to "not take that for granted"? Even little things like being able to go to a park? I remember my parents heavily teaching me not to take anything for granted, and to enjoy the 'little things'. Today I'm noticing a lot of younger individuals taking almost everything for granted. They think they deserve some of the luxuries they have. I've come up with a list of things that shouldn't be taken for granted, because there's always going to be somebody less fortunate than you.
1. Being able to attend a public school.
2. Having a roof over your head.
3. Having clean clothes, and shoes.
4. A nice, comfortable bed to sleep in at night.
5. Food. Stop taking meals for granted.
6. Having a cellphone i.e. smart phone.
7. Internet/Wifi.
8. Obtaining a drivers license, and a car.
9. Attending college, community college or university.
10. A supportive family.
11. Good health.
12. Loving friends, who are always there for you.
13. Owning a t.v. and having cable or Netflix/Hulu/HBO Go etc. account.
14. Being loved by a pet.
15. Having a significant other.
There's a lot more I could have said, but felt like touching the basics. So many teenagers get upset when they don't have the latest iPhone or newest Nike's. There's so many other people who would rather have clean water and a home over a brand new iPhone.
