It took me a while to finally hop on the wagon and watch this show, but as soon as I started, it became impossible to look away. Episode after episode I quickly realized why everyone I know (literally everyone) is obsessed with it. Shonda Rhimes might be slowly ripping our hearts out, but you have to give it to her, she created some pretty badass and influential characters. Each character carries their own incredible storyline that makes them into who we love, who we aspire to be and who we learn from.
1. Meredith Grey.
The carousel may never stop turning or it could just stop and throw you off. Life is unpredictable and sometimes you will get knocked down, but that doesn't matter. What matters is how you keep moving forward after it does.
2. Derek Shepherd.
Do what you love every day. Be great, be unstoppable but never forget that you too are only human.
3. Cristina Yang.
You’re the only one who can make all of your dreams come true. Never lose your determination and never let anyone take any piece you that you aren't willing to give them (especially your eyebrows).
4. Amelia Shepherd.
Those who have fought the toughest battles are often the strongest. Never let people belittle you for your struggles and whatever you do, always keep fighting. You got this far for a reason.
5. Richard Weber.
People make stupid decisions. Apologize, don't let the past ruin your future.
6. Callie Torres.
Never be afraid to express who you truly are even if you think people won't approve.
7. Mark Sloan.
If you love someone make sure they know it because you never know when it will be too late, and nothing is worse then wishing you would have done something when you had the chance.
8. April Kepner.
It's totally OK to love the carnival. In fact, go as often as you would like and don't be afraid to take new people with you if it's what you want.
9. Miranda Bailey.
Don't ever let people use you. Give to people what you get from them.
10. Izzie Stevens.
It's completely OK to not be okay but it's even more OK to let people pick you up when you're down.
11. Jackson Avery.
OK, to be completely honest, Jackson taught me that my perfect guy does exist and I'll just have to accept that I'm in love with a fictional character. No biggie.
12. Alex Karev.
People who seem the most guarded and most aggressive are often the ones who are the most kind and the most loving. Don't judge a book by its cover.
13. Arizona Robbins.
Having a disability does not make you weak in any way, shape or form.
14. George O'Malley.
Selflessness is beautiful, especially when paired with bravery. If you know you have the ability to help people, do it.
15. Addison Montgomery.
Sometimes you just have to swallow your pride, and sometimes that makes you a better person.
