Being in school is hard. Finding the motivation/time/energy to do homework, have a social life, do extracurriculars, get good grades, and maintain adequate sleep is infinitely harder. With the new season of Stranger Things coming out on Netflix, I couldn't find it in me to write about anything other than the parallels between my status as a college student and my love for all things Stranger Things. Here's 15 things about college that make me wish I could be in the Upside-Down instead:

1. When you try to convince your professor the printer wasn't working.

*Fake tears*.

2. Trying to brainstorm excuses to get out of homework.

*Pulls fire alarm, runs away screaming*.

3. Looking at the wreckage that is your GPA.

Please don't tell my mom.

4. Realizing you have zero social life because of all the work you've had to get done.

...Too real for words.

5. When you think the dining hall has good food...

There is hope in this world.

6. ...Then realizing it's actually terrible as always.

Better luck next week.

7. Having absolutely none of your life together at all times.

I have said all of these things at least four times today.

8. Trying to convince your roommate you won't wake them up when you have an 8am class the next morning.

*What actually happens at 8am the next morning*: Stubs toe on dresser, smashes into lamp in dark, drops phone, small tornado in room.

9. Having morning class but really just wanting to stay in bed and drink coffee.

If only my college agreed.

10. Having 100 things to get done before tomorrow.

Every day.

11. Skipping class and having to ask your classmate to cover for you.

Also when you see that same professor on campus later that day.

12. Realizing your diet is basically garbage.

My friend had ramen twice today and didn't realize it.

13. When nothing you actually studied is on the exam.

*Cries uncontrollably, tears stain test.*

14. Being unable to nap, sleep, or relax. Ever.

The vicious, vicious cycle of stress.

15. Clinging on to hope of a good job with benefits someday for making it through all this.

Hang in there, brave soldier. Put on your fierce Eleven face. We'll all get through this soon.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
