Side bangs and band tees. These are a few things you know all too well if you were a middle schooler growing up in the late 00s. In the car, you forced your mom to play Punk Goes Pop on repeat until you had every word memorized. It was almost as if Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low was in your brain listening to your thoughts as he wrote every beautiful song on "Nothing Personal." If you were like me, you were full of angst and just needed someone to describe what you were feeling. Luckily, we had Punk Rock to come to our rescue.

1. "Welcome to the Black Parade" - My Chemical Romance

"Will you defeat them? Your demons, and all the non-believers.
The plans that they have made?"

2. "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" - Panic! At The Disco

"It's much better to face these kinds of things, with a sense of poise and rationality."

3. "The Reason" - Hoobastank

"I've found a reason for me. To change who I used to be. A reason to start over new. And the reason is you."

4. "Jumper" - Third Eye Blind

"The angry boy, a bit too insane. Icing over a secret pain. You know you don't belong."

5. "Welcome to My Life" - Simple Plan

"Do you ever want to run away? Do you lock yourself in your room? With the radio on turned up so loud. That no one hears you screaming."

6. "The Anthem" - Good Charlotte

"I don't ever wanna be you. Don't wanna be just like you.
What I'm sayin' is, this is the anthem. Throw all your hands up. You, don't wanna be you."

7. "Miserable At Best" - Mayday Parade

"Because these words were never easier for me to say, or her to second guess. But I guess that I can live without you but, without you I'll be miserable at best."

8. "It Ends Tonight" - All-American Rejects

"The walls start breathing, my mind's unweaving. Maybe it's best you leave me alone. A weight is lifted. On this evening, I give the final blow."

9. "Iris" - Goo Goo Dolls

"You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be. And I don't wanna go home right now."

10. "Sugar We're Going Down" - Fall Out Boy

"I'm just a notch in your bedpost, but you're just a line in a song."

11. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" - Nirvana

"With the lights out, it's less dangerous. Here we are now, entertain us."

12. "I'm Just A Kid" - Simple Plan

"Nobody cares, cause I'm alone and the world is having more fun than me tonight."

13. "Curse of Curves" - Cute Is What We Aim For

"I want someone provocative and talkative. But it's so hard when you're shallow as a shower and from what I've heard with skin you'll win."

14. "I Miss You" - Blink-182

"Don't waste your time on me you're already the voice inside my head."

15. "Dear Maria, Count Me In" - All Time Low

"There's a story at the bottom of this bottle and I'm the pen."

My eyes are watering with a bit of nostalgia after writing this. Thank God I don't have black eyeliner caked on under my eyes because I'd be screwed.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
