From the small-town-community feel to cows occasionally crossing the street, there are just some things that every person that grew up in a small town can relate to. When you’re living in that town, it can seem like you may never get out. But, looking back, you realize all of the unique characteristics that only a small town like yours has.
1. Nights are so quiet that it’s next to impossible to sleep when you visit the city.
2. You know everyone’s first name, last name, and probably their whole life story.
3.It wasn't shocking to see that the cows had escaped.
Sometimes they just needed to go for a stroll down the street. It was a big distraction during school to look out the window and see that happening.
4. Everyone worked at the same three places in high school.
The Dunkin' Donuts, the grocery store, and the ice cream place.
5. You can’t go to the grocery store without seeing at least 10 people you know.
It can feel like a high school reunion when all you were trying to do is buy some milk.
6. You decide how big a town is based on if it has more traffic lights than yours.
It really isn't hard to have more than that.
7. You can name every single person in your graduating class...
8. ...Because you have been going to school with those same 86 kids since kindergarten.
9. News travels faster than the speed of light.
10. Most of your life there was only one grocery store and no pharmacy.
It was crazy when a second grocery store was built and when a pharmacy was finally built.
11. Your school was so small that there was only one set of bleachers on the football field.
And come to think of it, they weren't even like real bleachers.
12. All of your teachers know you and all of your siblings by name.
13. When someone asks where you’re from, you just say the closest city.
"I'm from West Bridgewater."
"Where?"
"Um, okay. I'm from Boston."
