15 Reasons Why Being On A Team Is The GREATEST
  1. You get the chance to meet people you probably wouldn't have met if it weren't for being on the same team.
You come from different groups, different parts of the country, different majors, but this team brought you together and you're so thankful for that.
  2. The people you've met have become your best friends.
You've spent hours with them practicing and struggling and somehow have managed to create bonds with your teammates that will never go away.

  3. That means there’s always someone to joke with.
After those countless hours of practice, you begin to get a little crazy and the jokes are always flying. There's always someone that does something ridiculous and for some reason, you can't get over how funny it was.

  4. There's always someone to scheme with and join in your shenanigans.
You and your teammates are always scheming, whether it's planning how to get the coach to let you out early or planning your weekend out.
  5. You'll forever be a part of group text that blows your phone up throughout the day.
If you've been on a team, you've definitely experienced this one. Whether it's trying to figure out practice schedules or sharing what happened that week, you're guaranteed to have your phone blown up at least once a week.
  6. You'll end up with some crazy nickname and a different handshake for every person on the team.

  7. Not only will you get a nickname, but you’ll get awesome free gear.
Free shirts, water bottles, backpacks, uniforms....what could be better!? Pretty much nothing.
  8. You have coaches that become mentors.
No matter how much they push you or frustrate you, you know that you can always count on your coach. They will give you guidance and advice that will not only help you on the court/field/mat, but in your everyday life.
  9. Your teammates will forever understand the struggle.
You're all going through the same thing. Your teammates understand the complaints about the bruises, the sore bodies, and the frustration caused by each other and the coaches. It's not always easy being on a team, but the good thing is you all understand that.
  10. They always push you to do better and reach your highest potential.
A team can't be successful without each and every member being the best they can be so your teammates always make sure you are being the best you can be. They push you to be everything you know you can be.

  11. They support you when you’re failing miserably at trying to reach your highest potential.
It isn't easy getting where you need to be. It isn't easy being the best you can be, and on the way there, you fail a lot, but your teammates will always be there to support you and to let you know that you can do it. You can be the best and you may not succeed the first time, but you will eventually succeed.
  12. You’re never alone.
You're constantly practicing. You see them all the time, but that's not what this means. Your team will always have your back and always be there for you.
  13. Road trips to and from games are NEVER boring.

  14. Not only have you made life long friends, you've gained a family.
Your teammates will forever be your family. Through all the struggles, all the trips, all the practices, you've developed a bond with these people that will never go away. You would do anything for them and they would do anything for you.
  15. And the most important thing is that your squad goes hard.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
