7. The opportunities are infinite

Whether it may be a student career on campus, a university tutor, a research assistant, study abroad, an internship or even a job, they all exist right in our current location. All it takes is determination, drive & hard work ethic to make it all happen!

8. You are surrounded by college students constantly

Did I mention that University of Pennsylvania, Thomas Jefferson, Philadelphia School of Art, Drexel and other colleges and universities are found within a 5 mile radius?

9. ‘Owls’ exist everywhere

Ranging from someone you pass in Center City wearing a Temple shirt all the way to our Temple University students and staff located at our campuses found in Rome and Japan, worldwide, we can be found.

10. Here is where you are created

This is where I have discovered more about myself then I ever could have dreamt of.. now it is your turn to do the same. Whatever it may be that consumes your inner passion, more than likely, it can be accomplished here at Temple. Anything from a nurse, a dancer, film director, accountant, researcher, lawyer, etc., here is where your dreams can be your forever reality.

11. The world is found within your fingertips

I will never forget during freshman year orientation when our leader made the statement that Temple has the power to lead you anywhere in this world, literally. Surrounded by us constantly are subways, trains, and buses that have the ability to transport you locally or to other major cities starting from 30th St. Station. Looking at a larger scale, with the use of public transportation is Philadelphia International Airport which provides you access to over 400 one way tickets daily worldwide. The world is yours.

12. You will forever be Temple Made.

In 2 years when I graduate from Temple University, I will officially be one of approximately 400,000 other individuals who have gained a degree from this great school. No matter what opportunities or choices that are made following my time spent here in the city of Philadelphia, this university will always hold a special place in my heart.

Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
