Anyone who knows me knows that I am absolutely obsessed with bunnies. After six years of wanting one more than anything, I was finally able to adopt my adorable Houdini this February. Though I did plenty of research beforehand, the past four months have really shown me how wonderful owning a bunny really is. I feel like it is my job as a bunny mom to share with everyone else what it’s like to own one. Here are fifteen reasons why bunnies are the most underrated pets.
1. They don’t have to go for walks.

2. They’re clean animals.
3. Bunny hugs are the best hugs.

4. They’re basically just living stuffed animals.
5. They have their own unique personalities.
My bunny may be energetic and friendly, but one bunny can be completely different from the next. Some don’t like to be touched, and some love cuddling. Some love to run around, and some prefer to nap. No matter who you are, or what type of lifestyle you live, there’s a bunny for you.
6. They love attention, but can also entertain themselves.
Bunnies are very independent animals. Mine loves to hop over to check on me whenever he’s running around, but prefers to play by himself.
7. Binkies.
When bunnies are super happy, they do something called a binky. This is when the bunny jumps in the air and shakes their head or kicks out their back legs. It’s basically a literal jump for joy, and it’s adorable.
8. They get attached to you.
If you show love to your bunny, they will love you back.
9. The flop.
When a bunny gets tired, they rarely lay down slowly or gracefully. Instead, they like to fall over onto their side or back, and sprawl with their legs behind them. This is as relaxed and content as a bunny can get.
10. Their noses.
11. Floopy ears.
Just paying attention to a bunny’s ears can tell a lot about their mood. For example, straight up and facing forward means a bunny is curious, while all the way back and touching means they’re comfortable with you.
12. They come in all shapes and sizes.
There are so many types of bunnies to choose from! There are long haired bunnies, velvet-fur bunnies, spotted bunnies, little bunnies, and so much more!
13. They’re hilarious.
14. Super easy to take care of.
If you litter train your rabbit, taking care of them is no more than cleaning the litterbox, clipping their nails, and giving them food and water. I also highly recommend you play with your bunny, check regularly to make sure they're healthy, and give them lots of love.
15. They’re as easy to transport as a cage in the car.
It’s no trouble to bring a bunny places. All you need is a cat carrier, and you’re ready to go.
16. They’re the cutest animals in the whole world.
Enough said. I may be a little biased because of how much I love my own bunny, but no one can deny that they’re absolutely adorable.
