Through heartbreak and Lucas/Peyton drama, Brooke always wears her heart on her sleeve. Showing all of her emotions and feelings is one of the reasons she is such a strong character.

2. She knows the importance of friends coming first.

Although Brooke has many different romantic interests in the show, she always makes it a point to keep her friends closer than her love life.

3. She stands up for her loved ones.

Her sassy attitude and wit are used for the better, protecting her husband, kids, and close friends. Everyone should have a Brooke Davis in their lives!

4. She is a feminist.

Brooke knows the struggles of being a high school girl dealing with the pressures of society, and she doesn't keep quiet about them.

5. We can always relate to her.

We all have fears about the future and growing up, so it’s nice to have someone as perfect as Brooke Penelope Davis to relate to!

6. She has the best insults.

Brooke uses her sass when necessary and always comes up with the best insults.

7. She is the best at giving advice.

Who wouldn’t want a friend like Brooke Davis?! Not only does she give the best advice, she always reminds her friends how strong they are!

After starting her own company, Brooke is sure to still be part of the executive decisions. Standing her ground and starting her “Zero is not a size” campaign changes the eyes of girls struggling with weight issues.

9. She knows when it's time to better herself.

Brooke is able to put her party girl self in the past when she realizes it's time to grow up. By making that change, she is able to become successful in the field she is the most passionate about.

10. She has the same insecurities many other people have.

Even the captain of the cheer team and all-around queen Brooke Davis struggles with the same things we do.

11. She has killer confidence.

Brooke has the best confidence, no matter what she is wearing or whom she is talking to, which is probably what makes her so influential.

12. She is a hopeless romantic.

Brooke believes in love and soulmates no matter how many times she gets hurt in the process of trying to find the one.

13. She knows the importance of having a good time.

Although Brooke has kids and her own business, she realizes that she is still young and deserves to have a good time.

14. She is always so wise.

Once again, who couldn’t use a Brooke Davis in their lives? She is so wise and can always help anyone with what they were going through, including herself!

15. She knows that her high school self wasn’t permanent.

High school was a great time, but so many people change for the better after their high school glory days. Even though Brooke Davis was the Student Body President, she realizes her party girl self has to grow up. Even the perfect Brooke Davis changes for the better from her high school days.

Whether she is upset, happy, or sassy, Brooke Davis always seems like the perfect best friend. Who wouldn’t want to be more like her? We love you B. Davis!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines.
