I am 21 years young and living in my “prime” college years. I am a full time college student, working as much as I can: slinging coffee and also somehow in a sorority withholding a position… my head is constantly spinning. Is there ever any quiet time? Living alone might have been the best thing that has happened to me. Ever since I can remember, as a kid I was in love with the idea of living alone. This developed a fiercely independent little girl that turned know it all teen and to now grown woman. Now has finally come the day where it has happened, I am blessed with my own presence of living ALONE. In my short beginning stage of living alone I have noticed several things that provided the summary that living alone is not exactly molded up to what I had in my fantasies, but the same time has completely surpassed some my ideas of living alone.

1. Going all out on a grocery shopping spree with an adult size selection of fresh vegetables and baked goods might seem like a great idea at the time of purchase; however having them stay fresh and consumed within the proper period of time before they go bad is the biggest challenge…(usually challenge accepted.)

2. With that being said, no one will help you carry said grocery shopping spree from your car to your door.

3. Laundry loads are a pain. They are never large enough of the categories anything... you start hoarding your laundry and before you know it, your laundry is taking over.

4. You are always on high alert especially when there are unknown sounds that happen in the midst of the night.

5. You can never watch scary movies, or scary anything for that matter. And if you so happen to accidentally watch a scary episode of one of your favorite TV shows well then it’s just over.

6. If there is one thing that living alone has proven, is that- in terms of self-discovery, it has successfully clarified that I can sit in a quiet room and do absolutely NOTHING. Just sit.

7. You can be as crazy and emotional as you want to be without self-restraint.

8. Sound Check! You no longer have to lip synch to your favorite songs, you can actually jam it out with everything you have inside without the fear of the judges being around.

9.The ability of living alone happily is actually something that is to be very proud of because a lot of people cannot do it, and that is okay.

10. There are no limitations of what you want to eat, what you want to cook and when/where you want to eat it.

11. When you do something embarrassing like spill food all over your shirt it is really not that shameful.

12. Usually when you say that you are living alone, people are generally impressed with your independence, which is good for your ego that clearly needs attention from being alone.

13.You can unashamedly indulge in guilty pleasures like showering with the bathroom doors open without people judging you.

14. It is very much true; distance makes the heart grow fonder. You miss the important ones in your life and it is special every time you see them.

15. YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT WHENEVER YOU WANT. FREEDOM!!!!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
