Let’s face it, you go to school with over 40,000 undergraduates, but you always manage to run into the five people you really don’t want to. Those awkward moments leave you frazzled and wanting to crawl into a hole for the duration of the semester.
Below is an unofficial list of the most awkward moments on campus:
1. Accidentally looking both ways on College and Beaver.
Are you a freshman?
2. Getting called on in a lecture class when you aren’t paying attention.
What? Who? I wasn’t sleeping.
3. To hold the door, or to not hold the door?
That is the question. If you don’t hold the door, you look rude. If you hold the door and the person is far behind, he or she has to awkwardly run to get the door. Either way, it’s awkward.
4. Throwing up on the White Loop.
It’s hard handing your liquor sometimes. Occasionally you can’t make it home. Being that freshman that throws up on the white loop will make for angry bus drivers and pissed off freshmen.
5. Slipping on ice in the winter.
Will someone help me up? Did everyone just see that? Many questions run through your head while you try to figure out how to get up.
6. Running into your crush while you are super sweaty at the White Building.
Frat hour is the best hour at the gym. But it’s also the worst. Running into all of Greek Life when you aren’t looking social ready is always a great time. *sarcasm intended*
7. When you don’t have enough meal points.
That dreadful noise when the cash register alerts you that you don’t have enough meal points. Then you just stand their in shear embarrassment praying the kind kid behind you will swipe for your lunch.
8. When your phone rings in class.
Your mom just knows the best times to call you. Everyone looks around the room wondering who is disrupting class and you know that it is you. Don’t worry, your class gets over it eventually.
9. Having to poop in a public place.
That awkward silence when you know there is someone else in the bathroom and you have to wait until one of you leaves. It sucks when you feel the tension so you just decide to leave.
10. Buying condoms.
Yeah this is awkward but at least you won’t have any unexpected babies.
11. When you are people watching and someone catches you.
I love people watching but sometimes it gets awkward when someone catches me looking at them. Sorry for staring but you are really cute.
12. You know someone but don’t know how you know them.
I definitely know you... but how?!
13. Accidentally sitting in the wrong class on the first day.
When the professor pulls up the syllabus and you realize you aren’t suppose to be in Advanced Chinese.
14. Walking pass the guy you “made out” with last weekend.
Do I say hi? Does he remember me?
15. Having class with a former hook-up.
Personally, I think this is the most awkward situation because you have to deal with it all semester.
