15 MORE Albums You Should Listen To Right Now

I have decided to write a second installment of my “ 15 Albums You Should Listen To Right Now ,” as I have found a lot more that I think everyone could enjoy. Again, these are in no particular order. So, plug your headphones in and begin the journey below...

1. “Pornography” by The Cure

Despite its rather mature title, Pornography is hailed as one of the best goth albums in existence. With guitar washes, strings and synth alike paired with Robert Smith’s dreamlike voice, “Pornography” is sure to give anyone an amazing listening experience. It’s also one of my favourite albums of all time as well. Favourite track: “Siamese Twins.”

2. “The Resistance” by Muse

Featuring a three movement orchestral symphony at the end, Muse delivers one of the best albums of the late 2000’s. Favourite track: “MK Ultra.”

3. “Bad Blood” by Bastille

The critically acclaimed debut album features songs like “Pompeii” and “Laura Palmer,” which actually got me into one of my favourite shows: “Twin Peaks.” Favourite track: “Laughter Lines (Bonus Track).”

4. “Prom King” by Skylar Spence

From the artist formerly known as Saint Pepsi, Prom King delivers the sound we’ve grown to love from him. Favourite track: “Affairs.”

5. “Darling of the Afterglow” by Lydia Ainsworth

If you like Banks, you’ll love Lydia Ainsworth. I love the stacked vocals accompanied with synth. Favourite track: “The Road.”

6. “Policy” by Will Butler

Though he is known as an essential part of Arcade Fire, Will Butler’s debut solo album is not much of a departure from the sound you’re used to from Arcade Fire. Favourite track: “Finish What I Started.”

7. “I See You” by The xx

The fourth album from the British trio, I See You is sure to delight all who are fans of The xx’s previous work. Favourite track: “I Dare You.”

8. “Melodrama” by Lorde

Though not set to be released until mid-June, I know it’s going to be good. As of what I can hear from the singles released, it’s going to be the ultimate summer album. Favourite track (as of now): “Green Light.”

9. “The Stranger” by Billy Joel

Hailed as his finest studio album, Billy Joel never failed to deliver classic after classic. Favourite track: “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant.”

10. “Vices & Virtues” by Panic! At the Disco

One of my favourite bands, the Las Vegas duo were back (at the time) with a steampunk look and a set of 10 songs sure to please the ears of many. Favourite track: “Trade Mistakes.”

11. “Hunky Dory” by David Bowie

My second favourite album from the late British singer, Hunky Dory is the 70’s pop album. With ballads and rockers alike, it has never sounded a day old. Favourite track: “The Bewlay Brothers.”

12. “Burning from the Inside” by Bauhaus

Another of the “perfect” goth albums, Burning from the Inside features dreary vocals over guitars and the perfect beat every time. Favourite track: “She’s in Parties.”

13. “Art Angels” by Grimes

Though having a more refined pop sound, Grimes stays true to her roots on Art Angels. Favourite track: “Kill V. Maim”

14. “Crystal Castles (III)” by Crystal Castles

Having a darker, more connected tone than the previous two albums, the third self-titled album from Crystal Castles has never failed to amaze my ears. Favourite track: "Affection."

15. “A Night at the Opera” by Queen

Featuring the groundbreaking hit “Bohemian Rhapsody,” this 1975 classic does not leave much to be desired. A classic, generation after generation. Favourite track: “Love of My Life.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
