15 Life Lessons Gilmore Girls Taught Us
Marie Claire

Gilmore Girls is a show that is near and dear to my heart. It provided us with eight seasons of laughs, tears and endless relationship goals, between mothers, daughters, friends and lovers. I'm sure everyone has heard it's coming back to Netflix and could possibly get released on my birthday, December 2nd -- I would literally drop dead. In honor of the long-awaited and highly anticipated revival, here are 15 life lessons we all learned from Gilmore Girls.

1. The only boys worth ruining your life for have motorcycles. It's a fact.

2. You don't have to be a morning person if you don't want to be.

3. And if you're not a morning person, it's okay to need several cups of coffee to start your day...or just to keep you awake all day.

4. Don't let people hate on you for eating too much.

5. It's okay to tell people off sometimes.

6. Bottomless mimosas are okay, but NEVER two glasses of wine.

7. Sometimes the best response is just:

8. In Omnia Paratus

9. You're going to embarrass yourself sometimes, and that's alright.

10. You can be indecisive and not know how you feel about something.

11. You're going to make mistakes and it's going to suck, but you'll come out on the other side of it.

12. Make sure your mother (or mother-figure) knows how much you appreciate them.

13. Know your worth.

14. You'll have to do things you don't want to do, that make you uncomfortable, that make you hate people. Do them anyway. A lot of the time, you'll be better for it.

15. Cherish the people you love. Make every minute with them count.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
