15 "Hamilton" Quotes To Keep You Working Hard
Broadway

If you have yet to listen to the king of Broadway's magical music from "Hamilton,"let me do you a solid and give you a few reasons why you should. This hip-hop opera is well worth the purchase on iTunes, but it also available for streaming on Spotify.

The show follows the life and trying times of a Founding Father, Alexander Hamilton, before, during and after the Revolutionary War. The casting of the show is quite progressive as well. The Founding Fathers, war heroes, and icons of this time period in America are all played by actors of color. If that isn't enough awesome for you (which I really hope it is and this is just icing on the awesome cake), the lyrics are incredibly inspirational. Some are insanely deep, some make you cry, some make you laugh, all of them give you goosebumps. Here are just a few quotes from the characters in the musical to keep you working hard:

1. "There's a million things I haven't done, but just you wait" - Alexander Hamilton.

Work hard and show the world what you can do.

2. "History has its eyes on you." - George Washington.

3. "The world has no right to my heart." - Eliza Schuyler Hamilton.

You owe the world nothing except what you plan to give.

4. "You have no control: who lives, who dies, who tells your story." - George Washington.

5. "Death doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints, it takes (and it takes and it takes)." - Aaron Burr.

6. "You want a revolution, I want a revelation." - Angelica Schuyler.

Your opinion matters.

7. "Let me be part of the narrative in the story they will write some day." - Eliza Schuyler Hamilton.

8. "Dying is easy, living is harder." - George Washington.

9. "Look at where you are, look at where you started" -Eliza Schuyler Hamilton.

Always remember to take a step back and remember how far you've come.

10. "If you stand for nothing, what will you fall for?" - Alexander Hamilton.

11. "I am the one thing in life I can control. I am inimitable. I am an original." - Aaron Burr.

12. "Legacy. What is legacy? It's planting seeds in a garden you never get to see." - Alexander Hamilton.

13. "Forgiveness, can you imagine?" - Angelica Schuyler.

14. "If there is a reason ... I'm willing to wait for it." - Aaron Burr.

15. "When you're gone, who remembers your name?" - Aaron Burr.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
