Childhood is a time that is full of new experiences. You are surrounded by loving friends, family, and unforgettable games. Whether you were playing video games, board games, or just games you made up, you grew closer to the people that you played them with (even when they beat you). Those childhood games will always hold a special place in your heart.
1. The Game of Life
Those little blue and pink pieces, that were smushed into the car of your choice, represented your life and what it could become. It was always awesome when you drew a card where your friends had to give money to you, but it wasn't so awesome when you had to give some to them.
2. War
This card game threatened to ruin your friendship with your friend that you were playing against. Sometimes a game that you only planned on playing for five minutes turned into a 25 minute match to the death. At some point you even start rooting for the other person to win just so it will be over.
3. Spoons
When one person realizes that a spoon is missing, your kitchen table suddenly becomes a fierce battle ground where anything goes. You will get that spoon no matter what the cost!
4. Killer Bunnies
This was a personal favorite game of my childhood. The goal of the game is to kill your friend's bunnies and get the most carrots. Now, it is strange to think about the fact that this is actually a real game. A really fun game, that is!
5. Pokémon
You played with the original 150 different types of Pokémon. Victory Road was pure torture because you were definitely stuck in there for at least a day or two until you had a friend help you get through it. You saved the game at least twice after you caught a difficult Pokemon just in case the first save didn't work. Hey, you couldn't risk all of your hard work going to waste!
6. Mario Kart
You followed Mario Kart from the Nintendo 64, to the GameCube and finally, to the Wii. Whenever you finally made your way to 1st place, your friend seemed to immediately send a blue shell your way and therefore, destroy your entire evening.
7. Guitar Hero
When your friend asks you to play Psychobilly Freakout on expert, just say no because your fingers might just melt off. While playing this game, you learned all of the words to classic rock songs and Sweet Child O'Mine is your not so secret jam.
8. Just Dance
You became so good at these dances that you could eventually do them with your eyes closed. The best was when you were able to convince your best guy friends to dance to Womanizer.
9. Zoo Tycoon
Where the goal of the game is to build an amazing and profitable zoo, you obviously were the master. However, it was also fun to look up cheat codes every once and awhile, for example, naming a guest Alfred H.
10. Super Mario Bros.
There was always that one friend that was awful and bubbled at the most inopportune times. Whenever me and my friends played, I was that friend. However, they still let me play even though I was awful. After a full day and night of our adventure in the world of Mario, we proudly beat the game.
11. Nintendogs
If you had a DS, you also probably had the game Nintendogs. This game was for when you wanted a dog but your parents would not get you one. This game allowed them to buy you a virtual dog instead!
12. Capture the Flag
Capture the flag was a nerve racking game that filled your summer days and nights with hours of fun. Sometimes games lasted only a couple minutes and other times they lasted hours, but no matter how long the games lasted, the memories you made are unforgettable.
13. Kick the Can
This game is one of your favorite pastimes because you had so much fun with your friends. You were always hiding behind bushes until you finally saw your opportunity to run and kick the can. Yet, once the person guarding the can noticed you, you ran to that can like your life depended on it and finally, kicked it as hard as you could.
14. Sardines
Sardines was even better than Hide-and-Seek because everyone had to look for the one person hiding. The most stressful part about Sardines was when only you and your best friend had not found the person hiding. You went sprinting like a maniac everywhere to quickly try and find the others that were hiding.
15. Ghost in the Graveyard
Probably the most terrifying game that you played as a child. You had to find places to hide alone. In the dark. However, as your heart beat quickly in your chest, you knew that you were having the time of your life.
The games you play change as you grow older, but the memories that you made last forever.
