15 Emotions Of An Underdog Fan

You are disappointed and can’t believe they got so close just to let it all go, but you knew it was too good to be true.

15 Emotions Of An Underdog Fan

Being a fan of any underdog sports team is definitely one of the most stressful situations you will ever experience. You rarely can go into a game with confidence that your team will win, since you already are used to the feeling of disappointment when your team loses. The great part of rooting for the underdogs is when they are actually having a good season. I have been a Mets fan my entire life, and whenever they are better than normal, I am so ecstatic. The joy that I have when my team does well is one that no one can understand unless they also are a fan of the underdog. The range of emotions that we underdog fans experience during our team’s season is hope, shock, disbelief, and sometimes excitement. We underdogs are in a league of our own, but I would not want to be anywhere else.

1.When the season starts and you are hoping this year is going to be a good one, but you know it probably won’t be.

Last year was not so great, but you convince yourself that this year is going to be different.

2. You sit down to watch the first game expecting more humiliation continued from last year.

3. When the first game is halfway over, we are winning, and you just pray they can hang on.

4. The first game ends with a victory. The possibility of this year being a good one fills you with excitement.

5. Weeks go by and your team is still on top, this is going to be the year!

6. You decide last minute you want to go to a game the next day, which usually isn’t a problem, but when you check on Stubhub, ticket prices are too high.

You can't even be mad about this because that just means your team is doing well so everyone wants to support them.

7. Halfway through the season your team is still fighting hard to keep that first place position, but you know they probably won’t.

9. They do it! Your team makes it to the post-season, but there is no way they can win it all.

10. Post-season starts. Nothing is on your mind except your team.

11. You are glued in front of the TV for every post-season game that your team plays.

Unless you have somewhere else to be. Then, you better believe that you will be refreshing Google every few minutes to check the score.

12. The impossible happens, your team makes it to the World Series, The Super Bowl, The World Cup, the final game.

Your pessimistic attitude starts to subside.

13. Your team is winning in the last few minutes of the game.

You can’t believe that after all of the years of disappointment, losses, and heartache that your underdog team is on the verge of making history.

14. They win!

You are ecstatic and celebrate for days. You can’t let your friends who said they would never make it live it down.

15. They lose.

You are disappointed and can’t believe they got so close just to let it all go, but you knew it was too good to be true.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
