This election season, there has been an extra sprinkle of rude, a dash of mean, and a dose of crazy. If you find yourself needing a mental escape from the reality that is our current presidential election, look no further! I've compiled a list of ways to drown your emotions and distract your mind!

1. Trader Joe's Dunkers

They're delicious and you can mindlessly snack on them one after the other while you watch Donald Trump's hair sway back and forth in the wind or Hillary Clinton shimmy dance.

2. Every season of Gilmore Girls constantly looping throughout your home


While the election will also make you laugh, cry, and eat a ton; Gilmore Girls will give you a less devastating outlet to do so.

3. Ben and Jerry's Pumpkin Cheesecake Ice Cream

Because it's fall, and the debates are so dramatic you'll need something to calm your nerves.

4. Endless amounts of puppies

Maybe even a round of Jimmy Fallon's Puppardy? Regardless, you'll need the cuteness to de-stress.

5. A vacation, anywhere but here

Maybe apparate to another world, far far away. Just a thought.

6. Read a good children's book

Magic Treehouse will transport you outside of this world, Junie B. Jones is great if you're looking for a laugh. Something to lighten the load. Maybe even pick up the latest children's hit, "A Child's First Book of Trump."

7. A storage pantry loaded with boxed cakes and brownies

The only real way to process the election is to bake your feelings away.

8. Justin Bieber's debut album to make your spirits soar

Because in this election, we just need somebody to love.

9. A really great burger, and all the fries

Burgers make anything a million times better. No regrets.

10. A nostalgic episode of your favorite childhood show

Back in the good old days, other suggestions include Hey Arnold, All That, The Amanda Show, or Rugrats to get the good feelings going.

11. Some good momma's cooking

Thanks, Mom.

12. Season 5 of New Girl, which just graced us with its presence on Netflix

Schmidt will have you rolling on the floor laughing and leave you forgetting that you actually want to cry.

13. A cute celebrity couple to swoon over

In this election, we need some love. Like Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, they finish each other's...sandwiches!

14. An assortment of Christmas shows and soundtracks because the holidays are just around the corner...
