As a Christian, I consistently run into bible verses. Some of them I read on my own, some of them I find on Twitter, and sometimes others have passed them along to me when I've needed them most. To me, bible verses are some of the best words that can be given to us or read for any given situation. They are important when I'm stressed, going through a hard time, lonely, or in fear. The simple act of reading them and being reminded of the love God has for us all can be calming and uplifting. Below are a list of some of my favorites.

1. "And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Romans 12:2

2. "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." Hebrews 6:19

3. "In the same way, let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in heaven." Matthew 5:16

4. "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they set it on a lampstand and it gives light to everyone in the house" Matthew 5:14-15

5. "She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future." Proverbs 31:25

6. "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

7. "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deuteronomy 31:8

8. "So do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

9. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

10. "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:16

11. "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4

12. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

13. "He has saved us and called us to a holy life -- not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time." 2 Timothy 1:9

14. "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:14

15. "God is within her, she will not fall." Psalm 46:5

God reminds us everyday how much he loves us, however sometimes it is through his word that we can begin to feel the concrete care and affection he shows and gives us everyday, good or bad. Next time you find yourself in a hard place, read a verse and remember how valued and worthy you are.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
